Thinking of a gulf coast trip to see a bass player bud from back in the 90s. He is in Gulf Shores, AL
Hit the coast around Biloxi? Maybe down through Dauphin Island to see those old forts, then over across the ferry
Any AVOID or must see spots down there? roads to hit? Never been down there.
Thanks in advance ..read more

My wife and I and going to Yosemite at the end of June for a couple of days. Looking for something bike friendly with food options. Not really interested in VRBO unless is walking distance to rar/restaurants. For those that have been there where do you recommend staying? Really just looking at convivence. Price is not a huge deal but also not interested in $500 a night. Some research say Groveland and or Mariposa but they complain about the drive into the park. Is that really a big deal?We have also looked a Buck Meadows but I can not find much for a decent review. Thanks for your input ..read more

After 4 days of Tennessee rain I was about to lose my mind....maybe I did just a little. Yesterday's front was marching across the landscape at breakneck speed. It was unorganized, broken up, but some of those parts were fierce. Of course the weather app in the morning just gave "scattered thunderstorms", so when the sun came out, I saddled up. My goal was Frozen Head SP & with an approach from E. I realized very quickly that the weather was taunting me.....the guy, who loaded the rain jacket and not the pants.
I pulled into a rural church(keep these in mind since many have a cover over t ..read more

New to the forum but have been using HD-RidePlanner for a few months. I have discovered two times now that my planned ride has been modified, rerouting me over some secondary roads MUCH different from what I had planned in the last session. Both times I checked the local road conditions phone app and discovered the intended route was CLOSED or RESTRICTED due to weather (today I80 through Wyoming is restricted due to high winds). I am planning this trip months in advance and really do not need the current weather conditions interfering in my planning.
Is there a way to remove/disable this "fea ..read more

I'm planning a possible ride to the Oregon coast, and could use a little guidance. I would like to spend a few days in Port Orford. My wife and I rode there twice in the past, but having trouble remembering how we got there. The last time was 2007, when we met some friends in John Day. We spent a few days riding in there, and it was a very nice area to ride. When we left John Day, we headed west and our friends wanted to take us over the Three Sisters, but it was about the 3rd week in June, and the pass wasn't open yet. I'm pretty sure we headed to Bend, and worked our way west to Florence whe ..read more

We left on Wed 3/20 for a ride to Yuma AZ. This was the first multi-day ride of 2024 for us and we planned to take it slow and easy.
Within 50 miles from home we're alongside Lake Mead. It's a great ride to get off I-15 at Moapa Valley and take SR-169 down past Valley of Fire State Park and continue on SR-167 clear down to Henderson NV.
We stopped for gas in Henderson and then continued south on US-95 to Searchlight where the Chevron on the south end of town is a great place for a short break.
The plan was to make it to Lake Havasu City and originally I was going to take US-95 all the wa ..read more
