Wips, Wips, I’ll swear, I never ever gonna finish any miniatures ever

As the title says, I’ll present a few wips, as I always get bored with my miniatures after the face. So here are new faces! The first one is the one, that is astonishingly „far“ for myself. I’ve finished the face (duh), started on the hair and finished one pannel of the ‚tassets‘ (don’t ask, I’ve forgotten the Japanese term for that armor-pannel). The plan is for the Hakama (those are I belive the trousers, to be blended and afterwards for some nice patterns and for the top-half to be also adorned with patterns like flowers in freehand. The armor is also gonna get some patterns with a white ‚V ..read more

Roman Praefect update: Metal parts
From the Lands and from the Landsknecht

Here’s a short showing how the metal I’ve shown in the previous post look now. I must admit I have put on a bit too much color on the helmet, but then it is my first paintjob in a few months, so I was content enough with how it came out. What is left to do? As you can see, I’ve started the white parts with the red shading, so the wet-brushing will commence next to lighten it up. Then the purple will get defined and maybe a bit wetblended. Lastly the leftover skin-parts get definition and maybe body hair. Oh and the leather and the „tactical rock“ will also be properly done. I think the metal ..read more

Short update on the Roman Praefactus
From the Lands and from the Landsknecht

So, I’ve finally decided on the colors I’m using for this guy. He will wear the royal purple as his cloak and for the girdle around his musculata and a white (cream-white) toga beneath with red stripes. The linothorax he’s wearing beneath his musculata or at least the pertrudges showing from it will also be white with red tassels. I’m not yet sure if I want to give him a red or black comb for his helmet, but I tend for red right now. As he will be getting iron-armor I’ve finished the shading-process with 10 dark layers lol and can now start to turn him brighter. Just as a comparison his ar ..read more

3d printed Romans-campaign
From the Lands and from the Landsknecht

Hey there, Something different today: I’m promoting a campaign for 3d-printed miniatures on My Minifactory. I’m not doing it by being paid or something, but because I’d like to have more stretch-goals unlocked lol. And because I started to paint the first miniature from it after months of paint-abstinence. The „Sons Of Mars“-campaign is done and designed by one of the first 3d-printing services that sprung up a few years ago: Resin Warfare. It’s their second campaign and it is about Romans from Republican times to the late (Western) Empire. Included are most of the famous troop-types like t ..read more

Forgeworld Empire Swordsman update

I have totally forgotten about this guy. I have ‚finished‘ him probably about a year ago, but never got around to post him here, because I wanted to do his base first. But alas, I’m too lazy for bases, as they don’t exactly are fun for me most of the time, because I have to clean every tool I use and I severly dislike cleaning. It is already annoying enough to clean brushes and having to use brush-restorer from to time to time, to reintroduce the tips. I did buy this guy a few years of off ebay, could’ve been a recast, as there were considerable mold-lines, but forgeworld is infamous for being ..read more

Napoleonic Mini
From the Lands and from the Landsknecht

Hey there, here are a few images of 3d-printed mini I painted. I originally posted it in the group from the guy who does them and it got basically ignored, garnernering even less interest than a guy that only posted basecoated miniatures. Not gonna lie, but that sucked. So I’m back to never posting outside my pinterest and here lol. I did quite a lot new stuff, but this one is done. It’s a 28mm eye to toes mini. But maybe my mini is really just subpar, Idk. Maybe the photos were really bad. Thanks for coming by Anthony ..read more

I can’t paint metal

I think its a Paul Hicks-sculpt for the by Warlord bought-up range of Pro Gloria Landsknechts. If someone knows if those were indeed Paul Hicks I’d be happy to have the knowledge (lol). All the while I’m still figuering out how to paint tmm which fits my expectations, here’s one of a many few new faces I have painted for relaxation. And here’s a face of a Perry 1806 Prussian Grenadier: I did another one but I think I fucked it up and it isn’t to my standards. This is basically everything until I figure out a way to paint good-enough TMM (you know it needs to look realistically and smooth, I’v ..read more
