Just a few pics of week two- a shame really as the battery in my camera died on week one and I was looking forward to posting up an AAR for this epic battle.
In the end, I think the Seleucids got the better of the Mauryan Indians.
All the images are "clickable" should you desire a decent gander!  ..read more

Just over a week ago I had the pleasure of attending Battleground Wargames Show in Stockton (Saturday 30th November 2024).
My aim was to write up a full show report inspired by the vast improvements of the venue, the games and the turnout since my last Battleground show in 2015. Unfortunately I've been struck down by quite a vicious virus since the show and a constant mega headache and sinus pain to not make good bedfellows when combined with my attempts to cover the show.
Rather than just let the pictures go to waste I have decided just to post them as they are as I think the show needs ..read more

I was very kindly sent these Timurid miniatures by Ashley of Minotaur Miniatures after seeing them on Facebook on the Minotaur miniatures page. If I had not stumbled across them I would not have known about them which, given that they are i/ a Timurid range ii/ very fine sculpts iii/ realistic proportions would have been a terrible shame for me to miss.
I contacted Ashley vie Facebook Messenger asking if he would like to send me some and I would happily review them then paint them up. To my delight he agreed and this post is a product of just that.

Here we are, nine days out from the best Partizan show I have ever attended and it's time to put into words my feelings about the event. I heard from one of my mates that it was the best turnout for Partizan thus far with over 1200 bodies through the door, I think with more women and kids attending too, though I could be wrong on that as I'm going on a "feeling".
After the brief obligatory walk around the hall one thing was noticeable immediately, most of the display games had disposed of their battle mats and replaced with ye olde terrain tiles, which, in my opinion, just makes games look so ..read more

New SWORDPOINT Rise of Rome supplement available now from our website as a PDF download!
I know! We have finally arrived screaming into the digital age; only ten years behind everyone else but Lord S said he didn't think the internet was 'a thing' and that it wouldn't catch on (he said this again last week too).
Anyway, this new SWORDPOINT supplement covers the rise of Rome from a tiny village to Masters of Italy (and a lot of other places too). It has 12 Army Lists (new ones and expanded versions of ones in Classical Armies), 10 new scenarios and even a mini boar ..read more

I'm obsessed about the Hundred Years War. I always have been since I was a child. I don't even know why! OK, as a wargamer I know why; I find it fascinating, alluring, and visually captivating.
I've been putting together a Warhammer Ancient Battles Hundred Years War English army from an army that has been rebased so many times it will not recover in terms of chips and damage. whilst not destroyed, I do want to make an effort to start again and Agincourt is just so iconic as a medieval battle, ergo the heraldic information much more accessible without combing tomes hidden in the deep ..read more
