I've been struggling a long time with alot of issues and alot around self worth and self confidence.  I have used these issues for years during a loving relationship to seek out attention. Not just women. I would accept comments or attention from anyone. But, only accepted or seemed out attraction, sexuwl comments and or actions from women. This has become almost a double life. An addiction for attention which became so bad, it came to using massage parlours to get some gratification. Not for sex but basically craving attention so much for anything positive I would pay for it. Even just n ..read more

Diagnosis?

Hello all. My partner (ex partner) is not convinced I have an addiction. I know it’s an addiction and I am 100% fully committed to getting help. I’ve gone to the doctor (who was rubbish), attending regular SAA meetings and now in therapy with a specialist psychotherapist in this area. The more I read the more I’m nodding along in agreement that that is what this is. Paula Hall’s book guide for couples was fantastic and I finished it in days. It is an addiction. Is there anyway of officially getting a diagnosis? This may help her understand it better and while it’s not finding an excuse, it may ..read more

About 2 weeks ago my life came crashing around me. My partner discovered that I have been using an anonymous adult chat app for months. Since then it’s all come out. I’ve had this problem for as long as I can remember. As a teenager I was hooked on sex lines, spending hundreds. My parents saw my phone bill and went nuts. I managed to just lie through it and say friends were just messing about on my phone but they knew. How could they not. I felt disgusting and ashamed. Years on and in my previous relationship of 10 years I’d frequently use anonymous chat apps to talk to women. I couldn’t stop ..read more

Why am I seeking validation from women?

Not sure if I have a sex addiction. I certainly had impulse control issues with porn and sex related stuff. I always figured it was a coping mechanism for other issues I had in my life. Of which there are many including neurodevelopmental disorders, they are too much to go into now. I have a more specific question. I recently started dating someone who I am crazy for, and she is good for me. But for some reason I have this weird need for validation from women. It can be just as simple as an attractive women talking to me in a friendly way. When it happens I have inappropriate thoughts, which I ..read more

Hey everyone  I’m currently still hung up on my addiction on seeing escorts for more then 6 years on and off…at first it was a rush and is so easy with little to almost no effort to get with someone online and pay for the service and small affection depending if the sex worker likes you, I know this is damaging plus the std and other more serious infections are always on the table so no escaping that, I do feel for the people who are in a relationship and just finding out that their spouse has been buying sex work to pass the time or put a spark back into their dyeing soul I guess and jus ..read more

I’m in desperate need of help I am a married man, have a beautiful younger wife but I am addicted to sex. It has always been quite bad, but since I have a new job which means working from home, things are getting even worse due to having more opportunity. As well as frequently watching porn, I spend a lot of time on forums arranging to meet and indulge in sexual activities with other guys. I masturbate frequently thinking about my wife with other men. I also frequent a lot of cam sites where I openly masturbate to strangers. I also indulge in wearing my wife’s clothes when alone and pleasurin ..read more

I just thought I'd say 'hi' and share my story so far. I'm doing 'this' solo, so I figured that posting here occasionally with an update would help with this. Hope this is an okay use of the forum. I'm 45. I can trace when I first got hooked on porn (and everything that followed) back to pre 2000, when my housemate got his first computer. I sat down at it and, well, it went from there. I remember trying to find excuses to use his PC. Deleting the history and blaming some tech problem as the reason that he'd lost all his recent browsing links. This repeated itself with another housemate, who ha ..read more

Do all therapists advocate for ‘healthy’ porn use?

Hi guys,  My partner just recently relapsed after being porn free for 1.5 years. I’m devastated and our relationship is on the rocks. He’s never done therapy before and this was one of my boundaries for us staying together, however the more therapists I enquire about the more many of them say they advocate ‘healthy or occasional’ porn use. This is crushing me, he will hear this and it will give him the green flag to continue. Does anyone have any advice? Is this normal?  ..read more
