R.L. Winston Rod.
Article By John Gierach from bloomberg.com August 8, 2019
"Split-bamboo fly rods are better than they’ve ever been.
I first heard this observation from rodmaker John Bradford, a man not known for hyperbole, and it’s hard to argue. Today’s craftsmen have more than 150 years’ worth of collective experience to draw on, plus the advantages of 21st century glues and varnishes. For once, tradition meets high tech with a happy outcome."

We are currently working on a bamboo wading staff. It is not split-bamboo but is instead made from a complete bamboo culm. And rather than Tonkin bamboo, we are making these of Calcutta bamboo from India. You'll have to choice of a rubber-like elastomer cork or black grip. The leash is 22" long of 3/16" shock cord and can be attached to your person with a small aluminum carabiner. The tip has a stainless steel insert or you can use the included rubber tip. They'll come in two lengths, 48" and 54".
We should have these available in the next few weeks. Let us know what you think!  ..read more
