I have a 2004 rhino 660 that has a been a small little project for me, but I have come an across a problem I can not figure out. I have cleaned the radiator, flushed the cooling system and added new coolant. Also have replaced the sensor on the radiator. I have come to find out that mine has a place for a thermostat but there is not one where there is supposed to but through reading other threads it seems normal. I bought a Yamaha rhino from someone in my community, and it was running when I bought it. It turns out it was running because they didn't want me to know how hard it was to start it. I got that figured out (the new carb needed to have different jets installed to return it to 2006 emission levels), and it has been running great! I'm here to learn and share my experiences. I have a 2006 660 Rhino that doesn’t move in any gear position, I’ve checked the Gearshift Fan Gear where the gear shift linkage co that seams to be fine. I do hear some rattling noise from the clutch area! Could a bad clutch cause the non movement of the Rhino? This is my first time into a wet clutch - installing a slug kit in my 2007 Rhino 660. Before I go to the trouble of putting in the slugs, I'd like to know if this is in good condition or should be replaced. Here are some photos. (Looks good to me, but I have nothing to compare to.) I'm a fairly new Rhino 660 owner. I can't get the unit to engage the wheels in any gear. I pulled and replaced the primary sheave - it had a mangled weight and broken sidewall. New one seems to work as expected (though I'm awfully new to the CVT...). It moves in and out, and engages the belt and the secondary. Hey guys, So here's the issue. First 06 rhino 660 took engine out and rebulit it. (crank,bearings,seal,piston,cyl. used head and cam,) Engine starts right up and idles and runs good. The problem when you give it gas slowly it starts to back fire out of the carb and kills. The back fire are sometimes small but also blew the carb off the engine a few times too.
