Casa Rosada
The European influence is palpable in the Argentinian capital known as the Paris of South America. The city does a great job of preserving its heritage by giving tax breaks to historic cafes and bookstores among other businesses. Buenos Aires has fantastic restaurants for all budgets and it’s certainly one of the continent’s best food cities. There aren’t many must-visit attractions, but there are a variety of fantastic cultural experiences to be had. Here are the 10 best things to do in Buenos Aires!

Perito Moreno Glacier
The Argentinian side of Patagonia is full of memorable experiences ranging from visiting an island inhabited only by penguins to trekking on one of the world’s largest glaciers. The remote region in southern Argentina is also a paradise for hikers and offers a variety of landscapes. I recommend at least 10 days here at the bare minimum, but you could easily spend 3 weeks in this remarkable region.

What attracts many to Argentina is Patagonia and wine, but the country has so much more to offer. Buenos Aires is full of culture, Puerto Iguazú has one of the Seven Natural Wonders, and the high-altitude desert landscapes in Jujuy might be one of the most underrated places in South America. With this one-month itinerary, you’ll get to experience the immense diversity of terrain that Argentina offers.
One thing to take into account is the long distances between cities, especially in Patagonia. You’ll need to build in travel days because 20-hour bus rides and long layovers f ..read more

Bartolomé Island
Ecuador is often overlooked by travelers, but it has so much to offer for a country of its size. There are lagoons in the Andean highlands, active volcanos, the Amazon, pristine coastline, and the Galápagos Islands. The prices on the mainland are on par with neighboring countries with the one difference being that alcohol is a bit more expensive. One of my favorite parts about Ecuador is how close the destinations are to each other. Unlike neighboring countries, you won’t endure frequent 8+ hour bus rides. Bolivia is no doubt the most unique country I’ve ever visited. The indigenous culture is very strong and the country feels so authentic. Bolivia often gets overlooked by backpackers, but it’s worth at least a couple of weeks on your itinerary.
It has so much diversity and you can climb a 6,000-meter mountain one day and be in the Amazon the next. Bolivia is home to some of the best art in South America and some wild political history. Here is the best 1-month backpacking itinerary for Bolivia!

Iglesia de San Francsico
Ecuador’s charming capital of Quito has the largest historic center in South America and is one of the continent’s most relaxed cities. Unlike most large cities, the street vendors won’t bother you and there aren’t stores blasting music on every corner. The historic center is truly beautiful and the city is perfectly set in an Andean valley making for scenic viewpoints. Lots of backpackers say Quito is just another city and to only spend a couple of days, but I absolutely loved it here. Here are 10 awesome things to do in Quito!
