My grandfather who passed away not long ago built dozens of model ships, most without any reference as to what they are. I know he built a lot of Spanish and Portuguese ships. I’d like to know what this one is if anyone can help. submitted by /u/NarrowNefariousness6 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My first build is officially in the books. I came up with the name about halfway through the build and it seemed fitting. Not sure why, really, but it stuck. This was a great first model for a complete beginner. I enjoyed working on it and definitely plan on starting another build later this year after I move. A few people here dropped some suggestions along the way, which were very helpful, so thank you! submitted by /u/tk8212 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I'm working on a 1:500 model of the USS Pittsburgh (WWII heavy cruiser). The deck inclines upward slightly from the Number 1 turret to the bow. Should I get a curved railing, or is there a way to shape a straight railing to accommodate the upward slope of the deck? submitted by /u/Interesting_Ask7998 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Best way to stick these planks to the edge of the ship? I failed to clamp them and holding them for hours with my hands to wait for wooden glue to set is not an option... thinking about using some Cyno bond.

Any brands similar to Revell Easy Click series?

Hey guys, just getting into ship model kits. Did my first one, but since it was a Revell Easy Click not sure if that even counts lol. But I really enjoyed putting it together. I looked around and Revell doesn't seem to make many "Age of Sailing" Easy Click sets. Are there any other brands out there I could look for that are similar to that? The one I did was the Revell 05661 HMS Revenge at 1/350 submitted by /u/plaitoson [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
