Good morning Gentlemen, Recently clearing my attic I came across some old lead waterline 1/1200:1250 models which I acquired many years ago. Having put them on display my grandchildren have taken a great interest in them, since when I have aquired many more for their interest. They are mainly Treforest Mouldings, Tremo, of 1937-40, and I have taken an especial interest in this make and especially the story behind this short lived company. Consequently I am posting to ask if anyone else on... Tremo ..read more

Hi, I have joined this group to query the Zincmaster as it was known in Australia. I have no marine or ship experience, just an interest in models. I obtained a model of this ship at a price too good to refuse a few years ago; it is about 1.8m long, so assume is about 1/100 scale. It was say 90% complete with lots of extra ship details parts that may or may not apply to the Zincmaster. I recently found a boat modeller who was happy to have a go at bringing it to a higher level of generic... Zincmaster aka J D Mitchell ..read more

Hi Folks, As part of a wider research project I'm trying to compile a list of all known models of the London Missionary Society's seven ships, JOHN WILLIAMS I-VII, so would be grateful for details of any known to members of SHIPS NOSTALGIA. The Spalding, Cambridge and Wroxham (ex-Norwich) models of VI and VII are fairly well-known, as is that of IV in Australia, but all thoughts would be very welcome. Thanks in anticipation, Mark ..read more

I have a model ship which I build back when I was a teenager through the 90's. It is the, HMS Endeavour Bark 1768 by S.Coleman - Artesania Latina - 1:60 scale. Through the struggles of a rather nasty divorce, the ex-wife decided to invoke considerable damage to it. It's been agreed to have it repaired, but it's just not a hobby I have time for now. It's primarily the masts, rigging and 25% of the deck. I can provide pics and such. Does anyone know who I could get an estimate, ship the ship... Model in need or repair ..read more

I am building a model of RMS Queen Elizabeth at the date of her post war maiden voyage in October 1946. I have seen some comments online that the masts were (unusually) painted white at this time. Can anyone confirm if this was the case. Thanks, Richard Herries, Auckland New Zealand ..read more
