The Fredericton Red Wings have announced that forward Carson Peer has committed to the University of Dubuque in Iowa, an NCAA Division III school, for 2024-25. “Anytime you bring a player into your team, and you have not watched or know the player, you never are quite sure,” says Fredericton Head Coach Kyle McAllister. “In the case of Carson, I cannot say enough about this player, who is both on and off the ice a tremendous player and person. The Summerside Western Capitals have advanced to the Metalfab MHL Cup Final to face the Eastlink North champion Miramichi Timberwolves after defeating the Amherst Ramblers in six games. Summerside was last in the Maritime Junior Hockey League Final in 2021-22 when they beat the Truro Bearcats in five games. The Miramichi Timberwolves have defeated the top-seeded Edmundston Blizzard in a closely contested series in four straight games to capture the Eastlink North Division title for the first time since 2016-17 and advance to the Metalfab MHL Cup Final. The Timberwolves took an early lead in Game 1 in Edmundston with a goal at 8:42 from Hugo Audette. As time passes, the Canadian Junior Hockey League continues to reflect on this sombre occasion that gutted the Broncos organization, their loved ones and family members as well as the town of Humboldt, Sask.
