Hello Everyone, just wanted to share early 2022 draft rankings by The Hockey News. Interesting to me because I’ve been following fellow Slovaks and potential top-5 picks Slafkovsky and Nemec (3 and 8, respectively). Another Slovak is also a projected 1st rounder (Mesar at 26).There are ten CHL first round projections (including the OHL’s Shane Wright at number 1 overall), and seven from USA’s national team (Jack Hughes, an NTDP alum, is at 15). https://www.si.com/hockey/news/early-2022-nhl-draft-rankings The post Early 2022 Draft Rankings by The Hockey News appeared first on Junior Hockey ..read more

Some very high-end hockey during Thanksgiving week at USA Hockey Arena. On Wednesday the U17 and U18 national teams played the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Adrian College, respectively. This was followed by the Compuware-Honeybaked Thanksgiving U15 Showcase, and finished with the 18’s back in action Sunday versus Chicago. The U18 games were highlighted by the fact that it has twenty players on NHL Central Scouting’s October list, consisting of five “A” prospects, six “B” prospects, and nine “C” prospects. Doesn’t get a whole lot better than turkey and hockey! The post Turkey doesn’t slow the pace ..read more

2022 NHL Draft: Slovakian Prospects Simon Nemec and Juras Slafkovsky

Hello All: The 2022 Olympics will be here before we know it. This is a bit early, but for me the team to watch is Slovakia. They’re not realistic medal contenders, but the Olympics will allow us to watch two young Slovakian players on the international stage. Forward Juras Slafkovsky and D-man Simon Nemec are both potential top-5 picks in the 2022 draft, and I’m interested to see how well they compete against current and former NHLers. What Slovakia lacks in depth they’ve always made up for in high-end talent, so good luck to them! The post 2022 NHL Draft: Slovakian Prospects Simon Nemec and J ..read more
