Can't decide what kind of feet to put on my DIY Subs.

Started these subs last year with a lot of help from the DIYSound community and I really appreciate all the help I received. All I need to do now is add "feet" to the subs, but can't decide what to go with. At the moment they are sitting on a 1/4" of self-levelling foam, and I kinda want to keep it that way. I like the way they currently sound and feel like I don't have a need for proper feet. Should I bite the bullet and order 2 sets of spikes, or SVS SoundPath feet? Will it really make that big of a difference? Current TEMPORARY Setup I know I shouldn't have the speakers sitting on the subs ..read more

So I’m upgrading my ongoing Bluetooth speaker build that uses a kabd-250 board with the lbb 3-v2 battery and nd-91-8 3-1/2” drivers in a pelican 1300 case. I am wanting to tune my project with sigma studio. I am using the kpx dsp board and have everything connected, working, and sigma studio to the point of adding the sample files from daytons website. I soon realized I am in way over my head on using sigma studio. I know very little about anything mentioned in sigma studio. I am wondering if there are any online classes to learn about this stuff or even pre-made files that I can flash to my ..read more

Triangle speakers - Any ideas?

I found these speakers. They look vintage, with a granite heavy base and triangular frame. I want to recreate them or find the original manufacturer but had no luck with either. (No details on or around the speakers.. and I couldn't find a triangular frame that's the same). Any ideas or tips on where I can look to find a suitable frame or the original manufacturer? I'm new to the DIY Sound scene and could use some guidance. Thank you. Currently living in Germany, Berlin and I assume these were produced in Europe if they weren't transported from somewhere else. https://preview.redd.it/9z ..read more

Newbie questions about room shape, surround, DIY speakers

Hey there, recently I was planning out an idea of placing a projector based setup in our living room as we would like to have a better movie, music and gaming experience. I plan on either building my own speakers from pre made kits but not entirely sure about that. The surround setup I'm considered costs around 1250 eur, the Q Acoustics 3050i 5.1. I'm thinking about starting with two built speakers, because i would like to develop better sound and craftsmanship skills. I'm mainly considering the TriTrix MTM TL which comes with an enclosure at around 630 EUR or with a component pack i woul ..read more

Hey just wondering; I have access to an ancient old radio telephone, a Spillbury Tindal. Would there be any worthwhile tubes or iron inside? Thanks! submitted by /u/Witty_Jaguar4638 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Old Car Tweeters, Mids, and Sub

Hey so back when I was well into car audio I replaced my jeeps tweeters and mids and kept the old OEM speakers as well as an extra Rockford Fosgate sub. I am looking to building a speaker box or a boombox sort of thing and need some advice for the build. Only thing I think I would need now is to buy an amp for them, but as far as it goes for making the build, is it worth it and where should I start? Also what would be some ideas for a power source and housing as this would be something i would just be keeping in my room. submitted by /u/Spare_Capital3588 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I want to replace my RCF N232 tweeters that i got already installed on theses custom high power concert speaker (from 1980s i think) The issue with theses is the foam inside are flacking, they are arsh and they are piazo tweeters with some kind of hard plastic dome inthe middle. I want to get some horn separate from the tweeter the bexause i want to place some Amt tweeters for a softer tone. Also i think i will use some 12" car midbass (maybe the ones from ds18) just for the look and also because they seems to have similar use cases as the original ones (who are fine but the bass barelly play ..read more

Update for Ultimax 15 that didn’t hit hard

Hi everyone, I appreciate the help I received with trying to fix the 8 cubic foot sealed subwoofer. After trying all of the suggestions I swapped the driver to a Stereo Integrity HT-18. Just a refresher that it is powered by one side of a Behringer nx3000. There was a considerable increase in output throughout the frequency range, and although I noticed there was a slight loss of bass texture it was made up for by clean room pressurizing output to 23 hz. Below that the output rolls off but can still be felt down to around 18 hz. I have recently bought Dirac bass management and I will report b ..read more

Ressources/tips for getting into DIY speaker design?

Heya, I have absolutely zero experience with DIY speakers but would really enjoy getting into it. My very first project would be to build either a small bluetooth speaker, or a 2.0 system for my PC desk. I am aware that pre-made kits exist but i truly am interested in spending the extra time (and money?) to design the enclosure and potential crossover myself from the ground up. My goal is not as much to have a high quality end product as it is to gather knowledge (for future projects) and have fun while doing it. I have a little bit of experience with woodworking, and a bit more experience wi ..read more
