Hi,
Im a newbie. I order balanced DIY headphone cable to my Arya Stealth. My single ended Arya cable, that came with headphones had two 3,5mm TRS connectors going into cups. New cable came with both 3,5 mm TS connectors and xlr termination going to amplifier. Is the new cable still balanced if it has TS connectors instead of TRS?

Audeze Penrose, Audeze Mobius and HyperX Orbit S are headphones with the same planar drivers made by Audeze and the same mechanical design (with some small differences). There are also functional differences. Generally those are planar driver headphones for gaming (Audeze models have also bluetooth). Weak site of all these models is head band and half rings around ear-cups. That is why so many cheap headphones are avialble with broken headbands. I have bought one pair of Hyperx Orbit S and one pair of Audeze Penrose X (X version dedicated for XBOX).

Bluetooth adapter KZ AZ15 designed for driving IEM headphones with connector 2 pin 0.78 version C-PIN. Unfortunately small size of device makes it more fragile and easy to tear down connector from the rest of wiring. Manufacturer have used wires in ceramic coating (enamelled) which is difficult to weld. Due to that device has been completely tore down to get an access to welding points on PCB. New wires has been welded, twisted and covered with heat shrink tube (4:1) with glue inside. Originally wires were “memory shape” around the ears and there is easy to find correct connect position. Furutech ADL ( Alpha Design Labs) H118 are quite rare dynamic headphones (40mm driver diameter) with min-XLR connector on left can, closed back or semi-closed because there is several hidden holes under cover. I was having opportunity to buy very cheap due to many marks of worn and missing ear pads. Spare parts, especially ear pads and headband pad for this headphones, seems to impossible to buy anywhere.
Ear pads:
As a replacement have been used pads for Sennheiser PXC550/MB660;
Unfortunately original fixing of these pads is not possible and new pads have been fixed with nano/gecko ..read more

Binaural DSP Welcome Post: Sharing Survey Results, Addressing Music Lovers and The Hi-Fi Audience and Building A Community For Binaural
Part 1: Survey Results
Greetings everyone! Binaural DSP is a spatial audio start-up that just conducted blind AB surveys comparing Binaural to Stereo. Seeing that 68% of participants enjoyed listening to Binaural over conventional stereo, I am pretty sure most of you guessed that version B was in Binaural while version A was in conventional stereo.

I was having opportunity to buy open back headphones AKG K612 PRO in a poor condition with broken elastic guides for headband. Refurbishing and some mods are described below.
Headband refurbishing:
ungluing bottom and upper layer of headband (stitching is not though all layers);
removing plastic stiffening placed inside of headband;
stitching bottom and upper layer of headband.
Broken elastic guides for headband have been replaced with new ones cut from polypropylene by laser. Upper assembly cups with labels L/R had to be drill out for disassembly. Due to that new assembly has been made ..read more

I am looking at the cable for the Bose quiet comfort 35 and there is something I don’t get.
It’s a 3-pin 3.5 jack to 3-pin 2.5, so I expected to see 3 cables.
Left, right and ground, but… I found 2 left, 2 right, a mic and ground??
What gives? The headphone has a mic, but I thought you needed a 4-pin for that? In other words the mic would only work via bluetooh.
Never mind the double channel cables.
It ends in the 2.5, it doesn’t run all the way through to the other side.
So what are the secondary channels for?

Hey,
I was thinking about about making my own cable to replace the one for mz Bose Quiet comfort 45 (or 35 not sure). There are a number of naked 3.5mm jacks on amazon, but this one needs a 2.5mm and for the life of me I can’t find any.
I found some DIY speaker shops but those didn’t sell heaphone parts.
Tried conrad, could only find adapters too and all the jacks they did have were butt ugly (and probably too thick for the QC).
Aliexpress has some but I would really like to avoid them if at all possible.
Thomann has a single one that also looks way too big and ugly.
