I've settled what I want in a binding post by reading these forums, basically something with good mechanical torque that won't oxidize over time. Gold plated copper seems ok. But in the EU I'm a bit lost so I'm looking for recommendations for a good quality source. For reference I was going to buy the ones on the diyaudio store, so you know more or less what I was after... It would also be a good way to support this site, which I've been reading very sporadically, but I think it deserves...

Can anybody confirm the input capacitance of the MM Phono stage of this pre-amp?
It’s not listed in the specs section of the service manual. The circuit diagram shows a 56pF capacitor to ground on the input stage but this sounds very low as I understand most phono stages are somewhere around 150-300 pF.
Does the input transistor contribute to extra capacitance in addition to the 56 pF in circuit? How much?
My phono cartridge specifies ideal capacitance of 400 pF, and allowing for...

Hi everyone, I'm new to DAC and would like to try different DAC available in the market. Recently I purchased the ProtoDAC, which works directly with Raspberry Pi through the I2S interface, and everything works like a charm.
The ProtoDAC comes with a DAC module, which is basically 8x TDA1387 in parallel. Having checked the datasheet of TDA1387 and TDA1543, both of them use the I2S protocol. Therefore, I replaced the TDA1387 module with the TDA1543 IC by mapping the I2S (WS, DATA & BCK), VDD...

Hello, my first post
I have been looking for a speaker design for a low wattage SE 6V6 amp. I originally wanted to build the frugal-horn and like the design for it's simplicity but my problem is I don't have corners to place them in but I have a large room 20' X 30' with an eighteen foot cathedral ceiling. I started looking at other types of transmission line / horns. I like the funken series and also a double port rear loaded design which is too complicated for me right now. I found the...

Seeking possible close substitutes for vintage upper mid dome drivers. I'm resisting the usual cluster of stepping out of the box into the current flavor of the month 2" and beyond offerings. Being used in a perfected 5w design I'd prefer to remain within the narrow designed window. So should you have such hanging around needing affection PM me.
Thx,

Well I thought I'd show some progress on one of my amps in Progres. In about 2019 I had contacted Phil Marchand for a PM224 kit. Phil told me he really didn't sell diy amp modules kits any more but I implored him, and he relented, putting together a
PM224 R1218
kit for me. I told him to take his time in putting the kit together and it was Christmas so I wasn't in a big hurry. Some time later I received my kit. To be honest I had never seen this version of the PM224. It seemed to me the VAS...
