Hi,
My name is Dave Coventry and I've just joined.
I've acquired my sister's MG ZR 160 which she's had from new.
It's a great little car to drive, but there are a few problems.
1. When it gets hot, the engine cuts out.
This doesn't happen all that often, but I live in South Africa where it can get a little warm. It last happened about 5 years ago to my sister, but last week I was driving down to Durban on the East Coast. There have been ongoing roadworks as they are widening the road...

Hi Everyone.
Im thinking of buying a ZR, as I miss the one I had as a youngster 17 years ago!.
I cant believe how few there are for sale now, let alone a good example.
I used to have a trophy yellow ZR105+. Reg was NK53 LWM. I knew selling it at the time was a mistake. 16 years later I still wonder about it.
Hopefully getting back into the community will push me over the edge and into making the purchase.
Cheers,

Getting stranded at the side of the road or being late to work because your car won’t start is a surefire way to get the stress levels up. This can be even worse if you don’t have anyone to call for help.
This is why we’ve given our Breakdown Cover a bit of a refresh. Working with One Insurance in partnership with The AA, our new protection starts from just £65 per vehicle.
Standard Breakdown Cover includes HomeStart, Roadside Assistance, National Recovery and Fault Diagnosis, but if you...

1.8 VVC rebuild.
I have looked at the explanation in the Rover manual which seemed clear until i checked the parts.
The crankshaft was marked AAAA. Nice and simple.
The rod caps are supposed to have 5,6,or7 on them. Mine show on all four rod caps 07 6
Does that mean they are 7's or 6's ?
Thanks
