Mainstream Christianity has the same problems as any thing else that has become “mainstream”: 1. The producers sell out in order to attract more people.  2. The material becomes cheap and is no longer creative artistry.  3. Platforms are built to intentionally capitalize on the success mainstreaming has brought about.  4. People fall into the trap and want to be part of the masses.  5. I worked at a church once as a youth pastor (once was enough). The pastor hired me because he was leaving in a couple of weeks to pastor another church and wanted someone to be on staff when he left. People weren’t particularly sad to see him go. And I had no idea what I was doing.  One of the older people of the church, and there were a lot, was reflecting on his time as Pastor.
