Hello! I've been shooting with the TG6 for a while now and it's great for macro, but I can't seem to get the white balance right. Every time I use a white slate to set a custom WB the background and most of the image becomes very grey, is there another way y'all would suggest setting WB or should I just edit it in post? I usually shoot in CA kelp forests, if that helps Attached is a pic of a giant sea bass I think shows the issue, it's just a harsher WB than I'm looking for ..read more

Hi all, watched a Utube video and the guy was talking about macro photos with a 5600k torch held just about the object. He only did macro out of the water but had some good ideas. Just wonder if this is a thing! Has anyone here tried this and any pics? PS should this be in lighting ..read more

Help With Lens/Port Choice and What to Keep/Sell for Future Use

I'm getting ready to sell my Nauticam housing for my EM5II. Eventually I plan to take my OM-1 underwater, but when I do I am leaning towards the AOI housing for weight and size benefits when traveling. Therefore, I'm tying to figure out if I should keep any of the lenses I currently have since I would have to purchase new ports anyway. I like a mix of wide angle and macro but I usually concentrate on macro since I dive in cold water that often has poor vis. This is what I currently have... Read more ..read more

TG-5 PT058 housing issues - other options?

Hello everyone I'm looking to purchase a new UW housing for TG-5. I am on my second PT-058 housing now. The first one had sand stuck around the o-ring off all the accessories button, and the clear plastic part of the hinge also started to have minor cracks after about 100 dives. Whilst both these issues didn't cause immediate problem, both would have eventually caused a leak. Sent to Olympus AU service center, they quoted for cleaning and o-ring replacements for the buttons and the case... Read more ..read more

12-50 EZ Port Adapters?
ScubaBoard » The Olympus Outlet
by Amy B-G

It appears that currently Nauticam port is the only one that will allow the use of the macro function with the 12-50 EZ lens. If that is true, is there an adapter that exists to use that nauticam port with another housing type? For example, is it possible to use the nauticam port with an AOI housing? Or if there is another port type that allows access to three macro function, which manufacturer ..read more

Dove Lembeh last year and did a couple blackwater dives. Have an old OMD EM-5. Was shooting with the 60mm macro. Had decent lights but focusing was a youknowwhat. Heading to Crystal Blue in Anilao in a few weeks and would like to try again. Stick with the 60? Some other lens? I;m reading maybe the 30mm? Because what would a dive trip be without a flurry of spending nondisposeable income??? Thanks ..read more

TG-6 corrosion on screws

Hi, I have had an Olympus TG-6 for several years and have taken it snorkeling at least 50 times. I am VERY careful about washing it - hose it off, then put it in a bowl of fresh water as soon as I get out, then wash off under kitchen sink spray nozzle after 20 minutes in the bowl. Allow to dry. Use it without the decorative ring since I put an aftermarket lens cover (iris style) on when I am not using the camera. I am seeing some white corrosion of the black housing (aluminum?) around the... Read more ..read more

Any NON-wide angle, LARGE external lenses for the TG-6?

We have a TG-6 and its external enclosure. The system works well and it's a huge step up from a GoPro or a SeaLife. Its only downside for us is its small lens. I've found a couple of wide angle/fisheye lenses but I'm not going for wider angles. I simply want greater light gathering under ambient conditions, which is generally provided by a larger aperture with a flatter profile. I'm fine with the existing optical zoom range of the TG-6 so I'm not looking for enhanced zoom, though I... Read more ..read more

Pink LED from AOI flash trigger (SOLVED)
ScubaBoard » The Olympus Outlet

I was getting a pink blinking light on my AOI flash trigger in my E-PL10 housing and both the manual and Dr. Google were completely unable to help. I was able to diagnose that a water drop had made its way into the USB-C connector on the cable that runs from the hot shoe to flash trigger. I soaked it in isopropyl alcohol for a bit, thoroughly dried it, and everything was back to normal. I'm posting here in the hopes that it gets scooped up by Google and helps another poor, confused soul down... Read more ..read more

Anyone using an AOI housing with flash trigger in cold water?

I bought an E-PL9 and am running it in the Backscatter Octo Housing made by AOI. It has a flash trigger/vacuum seal system and the manual states it can operate down to 32F. Well, I hopped into 39F water this morning and the results were not good. The strobes fired irregularly (mostly not at all) and the green light only blinked a couple times. I charged it to full last night and tested both in the car before the dive and once I got home after the dive. In both cases it performed flawlessly -... Read more ..read more
