How did My sister and I got hepatitis B? In 2022 my sister 24F did a blood test because she wanted to know her Vitamin D levels, there was an option to do the hep B and vitamin D and others for a cheaper price, so she chose that package, she didn’t have any symptoms and only did the test because is was cheaper as a group. To everyone surprise, the heb B was positive, (+ antigens - antibodies ) So we, the whole family, because we live together, got tested the next day. My 2 brothers, mom and dad were negative but with no antibodies so they got vaccinated. I was positive (+ antigens - antibodie ..read more

Good evening, I am by no means skilled in any medical field. I am an accounting major at university and am looking towards the experts as I am also a severe hypochondriac. Basically I was at a basic fraternity even with my brothers and when a recruit was around. I do not know this kid very well but he had a bad cut on his thigh from a fall he had a few days earlier. His wrap was abysmal and falling off so in an effort to help (I have had some experience wrapping wounds and injuries as I always did it on the wrestling team) I helped him reset the gauze and redo the wrap. The wound wasn’t stitc ..read more

This is confusing to me. When looking this up it says If REACTIVE, means I have immunity. However, it's posted on my results as OUT of range. Why? And does this mean I have an active Hep B virus? submitted by /u/Jazzlike-Purchase537 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Had blood exposure to unknown source 7 weeks ago, did blood work the next day to discover i was hep b negative but antibodies were low so I got a booster dose soon after. Got paperwork for 6 week followup blood tests and noticed the doctor requested surface antibody on the form as well a test for hep C, but didn't actually request the surface antigen to see if I was possibly infected with hep B, so I checked it off myself on the form. I'm kind of wondering now if maybe the surface antibody wasn't checked because the booster dose I received 7 weeks ago could have an effect on the results? Anyo ..read more
