Any one every see grey silicone in their engine oil? I started an oil change today and in the drain plug was full of the this grey silicone and brown/bronze sediment. Any idea when it came from? Do I have a bad motor? It does not burn oil and has no performance issues. It is a 2018 Kodiak with a total of 836kms on it. I change the oil every 2 years as I only ride it 100 - 150kms a year. Never seen this crap the last time I changed oil ..read more

This was my first major mod to the new Kodiak and one that was pretty essential. I go deep into the Idaho woods, so need to be prepared for just about anything. So having lots of storage for gear is essential. I was looking at the plastic rear storage boxes and while they were fine, they were pretty dang expensive at $250 and up, while not having a ton of room for a chainsaw, survival pack, and other gear. So, I started looking at aluminum storage boxes. I found one on Amazon that... Kodiak 450 rear box added ..read more

Not sure if I’ve introduced myself and said hello before. I’ve been scouring the forums for quite some time and want to thank you all for your knowledge, tips and tricks. In 2022 I traded in my road bike for a 700 EPS SE that I’ve been enjoying for many trouble free rides on our local trail system near Barrie Ontario, Canada. Last month we picked up a 2024 700 EPS SE for my wife. Other than swapping out the tires and adding a horn to the machines they are stock. Went with Kenda K299’s on... Just a hello ..read more

I'm trying to mount some stuff on the handle bars and don't have enough room. On the left brake handle, there is this aluminum lobe that juts out and doesn't seem to have a purpose. I'm assuming it's made the way it is for a reason, but I can't figure it out. Is it safe to cut it off? This is a 2023 Kodiak 700 SE ..read more

New Front Bash Plate
Yamaha Kodiak 700 Forum

While I was down in Arizona I found out that the front plastic skid/bash plate didn't like hitting some brush that had grown up in the trail. I cracked a good piece of it on one of the rides that I took up one road and figured that it needed to be replaced. I played around on the WWW looking for one made out of aluminum and found that Yamaha does make one for our Kodiak/Grizzly's but the cost of it was up there a ways. I found them anywhere...
