I can't believe I never posted a follow up on this trip.  Well, here goes, six months later. The Rubicon has become more challenging since the last times I did it in a TJ and an XJ.  It is more or less one constant obstacle from end to end.  It took us two days to do the difficult 7-mile portion of the trail.  My son was my spotter, and I think he walked the whole trail twice, with all the time he spent walking back and forth spotting.
