This is my first experience with any Barrel Rye offering. I ordered this along with the Mizunara finish since there was free shipping involved. I'm still waiting on the Mizunara finish to arrive so in the meantime the rye will get reviewed. This was the 3rd pour from a bottle that's been open only a few days, rest ..read more

I got sent out to Pittsburgh for an emergency work trip to get some critical parts for some machinery. I haven’t been to Pittsburgh since before I could drink, so I figured I’d find some nice place to get a couple pours. This led me to J Gough’s.

Old Forester 1920- $60 (my price) -
Basic Tasting notes-
Banana Nut, Ethanol, and Floral. Complex.
Review-
This is an often recommended bottle on here and I thought I would give it a try. This is in 95% of liquor stores and is a reasonably priced top shelf bourbon in 2024. It drinks a little hot on my palate. I find it also to be a little complex for a newer drinker, and I struggle to get tasting note ..read more
