Trauma is rooted in the body’s unfinished response to threat. When the body and mind become immobilised with fear and distress, the energy generated to fight off or flee from danger becomes frozen in our bodies.
It remains stuck here, provoking over- or under-reactions to perceived threats until we thaw out the frozen reaction to this original fear. This allows the fight or flight energy to pass through, processing the associated feelings and emotions from a place of greater safety and containment.

Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) often manifests in ways beyond the more commonly recognised symptoms of trauma and PTSD. What Is A Sense of A Foreshortened Future?
When people feel that their life will be cut short or that they don’t have a future, they can struggle to think past a certain point or make plans. For example, they may not be able to imagine their life in ten years or after a certain age. They can also struggle with negative thoughts about the ..read more

People experience a wide range of emotions, often relating to specific events. For example, they may feel frustrated in a traffic jam or happy when they see friends or family.

What Are Triggers?
A trigger can be anything; a memory, person, place, or object. They can be separated into two categories:
