So I'm in the last semester of my Computer Science Degree and now we just got to know that we have to do 2 projects a year. I made a 2d Endless Runner game last time but now I gotta create one within 2-3 days. Any recommendation of YouTube series, playlist where I can see all videos and essentially copy the game just for the sake of the project? I can't spend time making my own game as the dates of my practical exams are also next week and I have to study for those. It should look decent enough, not too beginner as we had a game programming subject last semester. So intermediate level ig shou ..read more

So if you were to normally put a light next to a wall, then give that wall the shadow caster 2d component, that shadow would be completely dark, no light can go through whatsoever. This is not what I want though. I want light to go through the object, but some light still be able to come out of the other side. You may think that is simple, just lower the shadow intensity on the light object, but nope. When I do this, the shadow is ALWAYS that float value, so it is darker, but it won't get darker. I want the shadow to continuously get darker as it goes through the wall, so like at the othe ..read more

Anyone got any articles / tutorials on how to make a boss fight?
Thinking mainly how to handle repeating attack patterns, a way of storing these to rotate between them. Then maybe if it gets lower on health it swaps between a new map of rotating attack patterns.
Any point in the right direction (even just pseudo code) would be a great start and help for me to start adding this into my game!
