I'm working on upgrading and reassembling my sim rig that I haven't used since my wife and daughter stole my monitors during Covid. The Clubsport V2 wheel base seems to be bricked again and the PC is outdated so I'm kind of starting from scratch and I'm looking for opinions on what components will get me the closest to the feel to my 997.1 Cup with no power anything. I've decided on a Simlab cockpit so I can securely mount the Heusinkveld shifter I ordered, I'll see what I can do to get the Heusinkveld brake pedal as stiff as I can. If I can't get it stiff enough I'll look at upgrades there b ..read more

I'm doing a webinar tonight with AiM on bringing sim data into Race Studio 3 for analysis. It should be a good time and we'll have some data comparison with me versus Cameron Martineau (pro sim racer) to see how much I suck. If you aren't signed up yet, you can do it at https://aimsports.zoom.us/webinar/re...T0S-gsuMhJ251Q and the webinar will be on YouTube by tomorrow ..read more

Heading to pitt race in a few months and avid user of I racing. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s an option with iracing. A suggestion for assetta Corsa but unfortunately, it is not as easy as downloading the track. Does anyone have a suggestion for sim downloads for practice? Are any avail or relatively easy downloads ..read more

I just installed the Buttkicker Gamer Plus on my racing rig. It was a bit difficult to mount the unit securely on my racing rig, but I managed to find a stable mounting point underneath the seat. After making the audio connections, I’m in the process of fine tuning the device to provide the best haptic feedback experience. I have only run a few laps with it (at COTA) but it seems like it will be a worthwhile addition to my rig. In my initial experience, it provides excellent feedback on the road surface, curbs, etc. I’d like to get it fine tuned to the point where it helps me detect wheel spin ..read more

Drove my first sims this weekend!

Oh man, I loved it. The only 'sims' I ever drove was a basic steering wheel and pedals hooked up to iRacing on my laptop. This weekend I drove a Fanatec fancy system and a GPX with curved screen. I got hooked although my beer intake did not help lap times. I drove mainly the Glen which I know so well. I was really impressed with the physics. So, now I'm looking into a system. Can you typically run iRacing, AC and RF all on the same hardware so you can drive a wider variety of tracks/cars ..read more

1st Sim Setup - Seeking Advice

I am looking to assemble my first sim setup to try to maintain some sharpness in the off season and learn some new tracks I'd like to drive. Principally a training tool. The goal is a limited investment up front to make sure this is something I am going to want to stick with and can get some value out of, if that ends up being the case, I can upgrade at a later date. I was offered the below for $1.2K, I was wondering if the better educated members here could provide their input: 1) Is this a good deal ? 2) Are the parts listed suitable for a starter setup looking at my goals ? Fanatec setu ..read more

Gaming PCs; what do people recommend in 2023?
Rennlist » E/SIM Racing

As I continue to get into SIM racing, it’s time for me to think about upgrading from the PS5 platform to a dedicated gaming PC. This would also give me the ability to use iRacing, which greatly appeals to me. For those of you with dedicated gaming PCs, what should I prioritized as I shop? Are there any specific systems that you recommend? I’ve begun my initial research into PCs. There’s a huge range of features and prices. It can get overwhelming fairly quickly ..read more
