This subreddit is a place to talk about Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network. It is where virtual pilots can connect their flight simulators to a shared network and enjoy realistic communication and procedures by VATSIM's trained virtual Air Traffic Controllers. Also, ask questions and get them answered by the experts.

Sorry for the bad photo quality…. But I was about to contact ground for pushback until this asshole logs into my gate, and just sits there. After 5 mins they didn’t move so I had to move to another gate and call for pushback clearance ?
Pilots need be aware before logging in about the current occupied gates! I was at the gate for 25 mins due to delivery delays, so my plane would have definitely been shown on all vatsim related maps.

Been wanting to do one for a while but the procedures required for it seem a bit intimidating.
Can someone explain it? ( Make it simple I'm actually retarted asl and will get confused easily )

I feel like I post on here a lot and I’m sorry about that. I am very passionate about this hobby so that leads me to having random shower thoughts that I feel the need to broadcast. Here’s my latest…
I am relatively new to the network and simming in general. Sometimes I look at people’s statistics during a flight and am astonished to see numbers in the 10,000+ hour range. Pretty impressive. That said, the biggest gripe I see is that people feel the caliber of incoming pilots is severely lackluster. The word is out and people are hopping on before doing their due diligence.
That said, is the g ..read more

Welcome to CVW-1 Virtual, a highly realistic milsim group founded back in 2018 with some of our users starting back in 2004. We strive to provide a top notch milsim experience and now we are on the VATSIM network.
We currently fly the following:
F/A-18E
F/A-18F
E/A-18G Growler
F-35C
HH-60s SeaHawk
We offer KUDOS to all the milsim groups out there on VATSIM however coming from roots that run deep back to FS2004 itself we offer not only a standard milsim experience but a Ultra- Realistic milsim environment that goes beyond what most groups can achieve. Most of our members have family or have se ..read more

My go to is KLAX to KLAS. I know the route by heart and it’s nice because it takes place entirely in KZLA airspace so you can have en route the entire time. But, seeing as I’ve done this flight about 100 times now (slightly hyperbolic but it’s up there), what are some other good short hops that take place entirely in one sector. Between two large bravo or charlie airports, preferably. Happy flying gang ?
Edit: I am currently doing KMRY to KLAS. Cool route that takes you over some awesome mountain vistas and desert areas. I can’t seem to escape Las Vegas! There happened to be a lone App/Dep co ..read more

I downloaded all the necessary software and such for run VATSIM. Went through the training and took the exam. But when I load up flight simulator and get into a flight on an airport in a parking spot, I get the “connection failed. Ensure flight is loaded” error message. I just finished the exam for VATSIM around 9:45pm est. Last night. Is my issue that I have to wait the 24 hour period until my CID is in the system fully?
