Just got back from my first trip to Moab and wow...what a place. Took the 2017 900 Trail out as it was appropriately modified (winch, lift, tires etc) to handle the most action. We ran through Chicken Corners, Fins & Things, Hells Revenge, Some of Porcupine Rim (that's a story in itself) and 7 Mile Rim + Uranium Arch. This was all between visits to Arches and Canyonlands national parks. On top of the scenery they town was very welcoming with lots of great restaurants (especially Mexican)... I am in TX and rock crawl here and in OK. Not a lot of speed or track or trail riding here, but some. I have already upgraded to 33" tires of 4+3 wheels on the Pro XP 4. I would love to hear y'all's thoughts on which modification would be the priority: upgraded rollcage or upgraded Radius Rods (high clearance). TIA ..read more

Axle directionality and failure

I read somewhere, perhaps here on rzrforums, that axles develop a memory from the predominate “forward” torsional forces and that running an axle on the opposite side of the car (opposite direction) will cause a premature failure that would not otherwise occur. I’m considering replacing axles as I increase tire size (32“ to 35”). I’d naturally want to keep the current axles as spares. Taking one front and one rear in the truck or trailer makes sense unless the above theory is true and I... Axle directionality and failure ..read more

Hey, i know its early but I got the green light for Rally on the Rocks for 2019. I have a decent amount of time to get myself prepared. I have a few of what i think are the essentials. I have a 2018 XPT-4 and bought high clearance A-Arms, radius rods, Full UHMW skids, winch, im debating high clearance trailing arms. But i have a few more questions. Im getting rid of the factory bighorns and going with 32X10X15 Pro armor crawlers. Are bead locks a must? Would 34s be to big? Todd and... first timer to Rally on the Rocks ..read more

I have a 2014 XP1000 and am doing more rock crawling. Just spent a week in Moab and had a blast, Escalator beat me up. Found 3 trails that I couldn't climb the ledges. 3 weeks ago I broke an axle attempting to go up a rock ledge at Holy Cross in CO. I don't know where to start, running stock bighorns. Adjusted the suspension for better height. Put Super ATV high clearance a arms on the front. What do I need that will give me the best bang for the buck ..read more

Finally planning to head out to Moab, likely November 8th to 11th. I assume it's likely too cold to tent camp that time of year, how are the hotel/cabin situations at that time? Any other forum members in the area at that time ..read more
