Suyo in Vancouver is one of the best gifts to the city.
Suyo opened its doors in 2022 and has taken Main Street, in Vancouver, on an incredible journey to Peru ever since.
RESTAURANT REVIEW: Suyo – 3475 Main Street, Vancouver, BC
I cannot stress enough, that Suyo is a must-visit food journey. The intensity of each dish is elevated to include the perfect balance of acidity, texture, and mouth appeal. The entire experience from your cocktail to dessert and coffee is a truly invigorating sensory bliss. Even if you know nothing of Peruvian food, you will quickly learn how ..read more

RESTAURANT REVIEW: Italian Kitchen – Brunch, 860 Burrard St, Vancouver, BC
I love brunch, Italian Kitchen, in downtown Vancouver, has created an Italian brunch menu that will surpass your expectations. Each item is curated with quality, nuances of perfect freshness, and boasts flavour that will make your heart happy. Chef Matteo is a genius! The dishes come together beautifully, each bite tasting as if it was curated decadence. I experienced this in each brunch item I chose to try.
The staff and management are pretty amazing too, as is the ambiance. Overall, the experience will leave you fe ..read more

The history of charcuterie.
It’s amazing to see just how much the beloved charcuterie board has taken off in recent times, and the grazing boards have grown to amazing sizes, sometimes taking up entire countertops.
I first was introduced to charcuterie in a much more simple manner, while out having some wine over dinner and of course at a winery soon after that. To me, it has grown into a beautiful art display of tantalizing flavours and fun. It’s hard to come by someone that doesn’t love charcuterie, as it can be so easily customized.
See my take on the family-style sandwich charcuterie boar ..read more

I may be biased, as I live in (well technically near) Mount Pleasant. I always have enjoyed and loved the various cafes and eateries available close to home.
I feel surrounded by food bliss and there is always more opening.
However, I seem to not be sitting entirely in a bubble of bias. Restaurants in this area are being noted as some of the best places to eat or check out in Vancouver. So much so that in this year’s Vancouver Magazine’s Restaurant Awards, Mount Pleasant was very represented.
A Review Of The 2021 Awards
Just to recap, in case you missed it, there were a number of restaurants o ..read more

Have you been to Breka Bakery?
If you live in Vancouver or have friends or family that live in Vancouver, the answer is likely YES!
Arguably once a hidden gem located on the corner of 49th and Fraser in South Vancouver, this family-owned bakery became well known for its pastries, cakes, treats and drinks. For the lunch or snacking patrons there is always an array of beautifully crafted sandwiches and paninis.
Since moving to Vancouver over 10 years ago, it has become my favourite spot to enjoy a treat or pick one up.
Fast forward to today, Breka has grown. Many have become aware of its ..read more

Kids and health, it’s what every parent stresses about at some point.
Normally the stress circles around what they are eating, if they are eating enough, and wondering if they are nourished enough. Trust me, I don’t think that worry ever completely fades… no matter how much you stock your fridge with fresh produce and proteins.
The truth is, we do our best.
My best, I know, includes subsiding my concerns with knowing that they are still picky eaters to some degree. Couple that with them doing activities, going to school, and who knows what they do when I am not around, I want to ensure that ..read more

Confession… I don’t love oatmeal.
Perhaps it’s the overdone trend of overnight oats, perhaps it’s the fact I don’t opt for instant oatmeal, and perhaps it’s just once you’ve had it a million times it can get boring. Sorry.
However, baked oatmeal or oatmeal muffins, now that’s a different tune.
My favourite way to have a bowl of oats is with brown sugar. Yes, I know it’s sugar and sugar is bad. Ah. However, once in a while adding sugar into your diet is not a sin. I enjoy baking with brown sugar, and I certainly think the combination of oatmeal and brown sugar is one that is a must.

Craving Indian cuisine? If you have not yet gone to Mount Pleasant’s Sula Indian Restaurant, you are missing out.
RESTAURANT REVIEW: Sula Indian Restaurant, 4172 Main Street, Vancouver, BC
This is actually the second location of this popular Indian eatery. The first is on Commercial Drive and is already a success. However, when I learned it was coming even closer (at the old Reef on Main street), I was ecstatic. I tried take-out several times, and amidst pandemic, restrictions took me a while to visit in-house. Well, dining in is a must to get the full extraordinary experience.
