Did you know, in our daily life there are almost five to ten people who make our day-to-day life easy and simple with their super skills? But, we are too disconnected and unconscious to even accept or appreciate them.
While I sit in my cabin and go through my daily schedule, I wonder if not for the selfless passion of my employees, my business would be in ruins otherwise.
Deep work makes every move you make purposeful. This reminds me of my ‘Search for the Divine Soul’ team, who through their perseverance brings candidates that are perfectly in sync with our ideas.
It is the employees w ..read more

Often during long walks around my hometown(Churu) in the evenings, I used to wonder about life and the purpose of living. Don’t we sometimes unknowingly, become a contradiction of what we actually wish to be?
Well, the search for a purpose never ends. While some go on in search of their purpose, many others keep jumping from one thing to another. Being a businessman has given me the freedom to explore and experiment. However, before I decided to pursue a business I was in a dilemma.
For several days, I kept reading and meditating for the answers. But, only later did I ..read more

There’s a booming interest in entrepreneurship education lately, and its advocates claim that there’s more science behind the subject these days. But I think that much of what modern entrepreneurship classes explain and teach—the best ways to avoid mistakes—is misleading.
Teaching budding entrepreneurs to avoid risks causes them more damage. They are lured by falling into never-ending planning and product manufacturing, without practical research or trialing.
Failures and mistakes are unavoidable and are the same as testing theories and learning in the scientific world. Just as we would ..read more

Creating a business enterprise is like having a child. The founder acts as a parent, nurtures the organization as one would do, imparts knowledge and values and then eventually, takes a less participatory role in the hopes that their efforts will result in success.
My business has always been close to my heart as I sacrificed quite a lot to see it flourish. In addition to turning down a potentially stable job, I was shunned by the community and derided by family members. This meant that I had little in terms of support during the early years.
What I lacked in support was more than amply ..read more

I am writing this post right after finishing a long call with representatives of one of the most premium entrepreneurship platforms in the country. I had the privilege of being invited as a mentor on this platform. And the agenda of our call today was to discuss the “key takeaways” of my mentorship sessions. I started off on a high note, with my core thought — entrepreneurship is a mindset, not a power position.
The call progressed. I talked more about the idea of building a healing organization, how love & joy are central to our work at Jaipur Rugs, and how obsolete the command & cont ..read more

In my years of experience, I have come across people from the biggest institutions in the world. My industry also allows me the privilege of working with people from the grassroots. Though I have enjoyed both the interactions, my experience with them has been vastly different. In other words, it has been quite a revelation.
When I meet people of knowledge, some of them holding PhDs, some coming straight out of the best business schools, I notice certain confidence in their stance. Confidence that someone from a humble background or someone without any degrees might not have. However, in most c ..read more

I started my business with a vision to find my inner self. Today, “Jaipur rugs”, what the world perceives as a complex business, was simply built on a transparent and uncomplicated piece of my will. I believe that my clear vision and simplicity of thoughts have made my search for solutions easier.
Vision gets converted to desires when the mind takes charge of thoughts. The desire, in turn, leads to disappointments and complications. Because somewhere we have misunderstood that life is the fulfillment of desires.

Who am I? A question we should be asking ourselves.
People often introduce and address me as a social entrepreneur, a businessman, CEO, founder, leader, and so on. The truth is that they know about me, but they don’t know me.
Why do we connect our identity with our profession, financial status, and family background, when our life journey is more about our experiences and learnings? When something major happens in our lives, positive or negative, sometimes our perception, or the perception of those looking at us changes, and we have to redefine ourselves. Instead, we settle for what’s e ..read more

How do you act when things go wrong unexpectedly?
Well, a few days back, I came back home with a troubled heart and a frustrated mind. I was upset because of not being able to bring the results that I expected out of myself.
After introspecting upon my feelings on a deeper level, I realised that humans are prisoners of their own thoughts. The lens through which we perceive ourselves is often colored by external biases, ideologies, experiences, and established management practices.
This made me analyse myself.
I was more involved in the doing than being, making me a slave to my habits.

After a year of uncertainty, I was really excited to meet my new set of divine heroes in person. After listening to their understanding and interacting for an hour I asked, ‘what is the destination you seek in your role here?’
Within a few seconds, I received a couple of answers where many were saying they want to make several changes in the present system and how they will use their knowledge to transform the challenges into opportunities.
After which I asked them since you are sure about your destination, are you also aware of the direction you want to go?
There was an abr ..read more
