We love a debut track here on RIDE and this has to be one of the hardest debut singles we’ve heard in a long time. Fresh Out Of Portland by Yayo.upt is a total banger.
Inspired by deeply personal themes. The song came to fruition whilst Yayo was serving an 8-year sentence in a prison appropriately named ‘Portland,’ following a drug related run-in with the law and a 3-month period on the run with no support from family or friends, struggling to survive on the brutal streets.
Portland proved to be the toughest challenge of Yayo’s life as he was estranged from his family and friends who all live ..read more

We love a debut single here on RIDE and Nigerian spitter Sammy Smack is the latest artist to catch our attention with his brand new track Coast to Coast.
This incredibly high-energy Afrobeat infused Drill track was created alongside his mom/manager, and then recorded in Rockville, Maryland. It was his mom that encourage him to add the Igbo (a Nigerian language) hook. It really encapsulates the track and Sammy’s pride when it comes to his heritage and how he’s living life now.
“My life is a movie I’m the star and you upset, Young destined for greatness I think that’s why they upset ..read more

South London spitter Faraoh is a fast rising talent in the UK drill scene and his latest track Riding is without doubt one of his best releases to-date!
Taking inspiration from the likes of Knucks and Nemzzz, this ‘chill drill’ style track is a well polished cut that you can’t help but vibe to.
With its ethereal, winding piano riff and hard-hitting drum patterns, this track takes the best part of drill and mixes it with chill hip-hop to create something totally fresh.
Faraoh’s flow is smooth and mesmerising as he rides the beat – no pun intended – with an absolute finesse.
Faraoh is witho ..read more

Erupting onto the U.K. hip-hop scene following a short hiatus from music, Martian B2A is back with his highly anticipated debut album Less is More – 10 hard hitting tracks filled with cold bars and mesmerising flows.
The album had an impressively quick writing and recording process, taking just four months to complete; the wheels were set in motion when Martian B2A found the ideal beat on YouTube and reached out to the producer, Trinz, to buy the lease to the instrumental.
From this, Martian B2A created the emphatic track Go Time, and the rest of the alb ..read more

Finally following up his hot 2022 single body, East London rapper GLX is back with a bang and a brand new anthem for your summer playlists with his latest single MyTeam.
Inspired during to pen this one during lockdown, GLX kept this one in the vault for a couple of years before making sure it was perfect again for this 2023 release. And as far as we’re concerned it was well worth the wait!
GLX is feeling himself on My Team, he’s bigging up himself and the people around him that have helped him in his career. It’s refreshing to hear a track that bursts with such positivity, you can’t ..read more

Skinny Blacks might just be one of the most exciting underground artist doing his thing in the UK. His latest EP The Art Of Patience & Confidence is one of our favourite projects of 2023 so far. Its dynamic, well crafted and impossible to fit in any box.
A 7 track journey into the mind of Skinny Blacks, this EP is all over the place in the best way possible. It’s totally unpredictable from track to track; the only thing you can guarantee is that every cut is as enjoyable as the next.
Mixing soulful vocals, with a bit of hip-hop, R&B, trap, indie rock and almost everything in-between, S ..read more

I hope you don’t scare easily, because UK spitter L-Zee Roselli is back with frightening hard new track Nightmare 169.
Horrorcore is one of those unique sides of rap that we don’t often see anymore. It feels like all the best horrorcore artists came and went in the 90s, leaving an incredible impact on rap as a whole and influencing the likes of Eminem, $uicideBoy$ and even Tyler The Creator in the years after.
What’s even rarer than modern horrorcore rap, is British horrorcore! I wasn’t even sure this existed before hearing this new cut from L-Zee Roselli. This man might be single handedly re ..read more

Rising Windy City R&B star Tray Nova is back with a smooth summer loving banger with new track “You Say, I Say”.
We’ve been following Tray’s rise for a few years now and with each release he seems to up the levels and serve up more slices of sublime neo-R&B goodness.
The Chicago native’s latest single “You Say, I Say” is his catchiest track to-date with an incredibly singable hook and verses that’ll have you bopping your head all day long. It’s just so smooth from start to finish man.

South London spitter CRO is back with fresh banger Climbing The Ladder and it’s possibly the hardest track he’s dropped to date!
Climbing the Ladder is inspired by the transformation of CRO’s daily life, seeing how his circumstances changed and now he’s able to get his people out of the ‘treacherous street life’ around them.
It’s a serious track with some hard hitting lyrics that you’ve really got to listen to and deep. But despite the raw subject matter, this tune is still so catchy and one that has to get added to your UK playlist as soon as you hear it!
CRO without doubt has one of t ..read more
