OK, first off, let me get the mandatory "excuse" out of the way - my car is essentially BONE-stock, with the exception of the window tint & all-season tires (Vredestein Quatrac Pro, GREAT street tires). And, oh yeah, I live in the Denver, CO metro, where actual oxygen is (more or less) merely a rumor...
I'd hit Bandimere's test-&-tune night once before, about a month earlier, I drove in right off of the highway, no cool-down time & ran a 14.9 @ 97.47. As this was my...

Heres a great article to go along with this clip.
The 6.4-liter engines massive power that produces 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque will provide drivers with the motivation to take on even the fastest of cars on the track. When the 6.4-liter is matched to the optional TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission (a six-speed manual is standard), drivers will have the ability to quickly put power to the rear wheels and intimidate just about anyone who witnesses this beast on the...

I finally took the car to the drag strip and was pleased with the results. The attached time slip was my best time, 12.599. (Right Lane) My 60 foot times were terrible due to the lack of traction as I was running the OEM tires. Trap speeds were better than I expected. Now I need to find the right wheel/tire combo to put power to the ground off the line. The last time I drag raced was 30 years ago, in my 73 Camaro. I had a lot of fun running my SS and look forward to going again.[ATTACH...

The last time I went to the track, I was running my 14 sec. 72 C10 in high school. 1997ish. I’m thinking of seeing what my SS can do. I’m thinking I might break into the 11s with some luck. (711whp and drag radials). It looks like I’m going to need a helmet and a jacket for sure. Will I really need a 6pt roll bar for sub 11.49? And whats all the other sfi seatbelt, clutch/flywheel shield. I’m running a Monster Clutch. Will I even need to worry about getting in the 10s? That‘s a whole new set...

Just a little 1/4 mile run to share. This year has given me a countless pile of 12 sec times slips, and a total of 10 times slips in the 11's. Lowest was an 11.19 @ 123.9. I am not sharing this to portray that I am the fastest, the best....the anything. This is just to share a part of a hobby, a stress relief.
