Last week I spoke to a beautiful CNO (Chief Nursing Officer) from the USA who is a wonderful leader and wanted to recognise her astonishing team of hard working leaders and nurses.

Well we are finally, almost, kind of back to work! Everything is different and a surprisingly large number of people are expressing concerns about coming back to the office – largely because it means interacting with people again – colleagues or customers.
This is a BIG issue! And fear is at the root of it.
• Fear of looking or being seen as stupid or not good enough.
• Fear of ‘germs’.
• Fear of what others will think.

Is anyone else feeling like me?
I seem to have lost all sense of time these days. Albeit I have been at home more than I have in 40 years – like ALL the time! And I seem to have a huge amount to do but don’t seem to be achieving much.
I feel like I am torn between enjoying the time to do ‘stuff’ around the house and garden – there is a LOT of maintenance – and feeling like I should be doing much more worthwhile ‘stuff’.
I am feeling somewhat unmotivated to market, write, slog, or create something.

What we tell ourselves, the stories we repeat inside our heads about ourselves and others create our perceptions, expectations and therefore reality! So if we can change our mindset by changing our beliefs; and change our beliefs by changing our thoughts – you begin to see how critical it is to be conscious of our thoughts and choose consciously.
Did you know we are unconscious of our thoughts 95-99% of the time? And our thoughts rule everything.

As I am committed to being authentic I am sharing that I struggled today at the thought of writing this post! Things are a mess in Australia and we are under extreme totalitarian like conditions. I wondered how I could write a newsletter on gratitude!
So many of my friends are deeply distressed by the mandates and draconian rules – and no one can make plans because our state governments change the rules all the time. People are living in fear – fear generated from many different directions.

It is a wonderful sentiment to be asking others if they are OK – and helping supporting them if we can.
At the same time how many of us are asking ‘Am I OK?’!
Much like the instructions given when oxygen masks fall in a plane – ‘put your own mask on first if you are with children’. Why is that? Because if you are not in great shape – you can’t help your children!
