At some point in time, most of us have attended some form of professional development training. We’ve gone to short workshops, attended a master class or some short courses online. Maybe, you’ve read some fantastic books that are insightful and provide you with the knowledge that you want to apply in your working life. I read an interesting post on Facebook that said “I really feel that I have read all the best self-help books out there. Now each book is not as life-changing as the previous one. So you can imagine that sometimes the signals and information are getting really confusing for them and Alzheimer’s patients can become distressed or even aggressive. But using sounds and smells that are familiar to them from a moment in their life can often put them into a place of calm by bringing back certain memories. Relive and ..read more

I had a very enlightening conversation with Tansel Ali, a memory expert and the author of The Yellow Elephant: Improve Your Memory and Learn More, Faster, Better, on the impact of memory on stress management.  We touched upon the relationship between stress and memory, and how they work hand in hand. Well, yes, while I do believe in the magic of luck, four-leaf clovers and all of those things, quite often there is a little bit of science behind it. You’ve heard the saying ‘fortune favours the few’ or ‘no one is ever an overnight success. Quite often there is a lot of work, thought and consisten ..read more
