I discovered NooK last year when I was looking for an alternative to the never ending fort building from my budding architect son. He would collect all the cushions and blankets from every room in our house and then stretch and pile them over chairs and tables. No matter how many times I put them all away, the fort would be built again by the end of the day. In the quest for more order to the chaos I found a practical solution that met our requirements for fabulous forts, but also for other play based activities, extra seating and a spare bed for sleepovers. We got an Original NooK and it has ..read more

Mum Little LOVES!

Is there anything more relaxing than lounging on an outdoor hanging bed swing in your own backyard? When I found Cartia Collective all my dreams came true. I have wanted one of these beautiful swings for years, I have been begging my husband to make me one because I didn’t know where to buy one, until I found Cartia Collective. Cartia Collective is an Australian business located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It was born from a family project of building a swing for the kids, and has turned into a family business with happy customers Australia wide. They have an expansive range of designs to ..read more

Easter, but not really …
Mum Little LOVES!

When Kim from Figs & Feta magazine contacted me recently about doing an article about ME I was gobsmacked. Our homes have been in a few magazines before, but those features focus on our home and style, not me! I asked Kim why she wanted little old me in her beautiful magazine. She said she admires the way I have built a community of beautiful friends through IG, she likes how I share my DIY’s and encourage everyone to give it a go and she appreciates the fact I keep it real. I had a little think about it and I realised I DO have an amazing Insta tribe of gorgeous, supportive and caring fri ..read more

Christmas looks a little different at our house this year. We have a new home with a fireplace + mantle (a stylists dream), my style seems to be evolving (all by itself) and I’m using a darker + moodier (still colourful) palette than I ever thought I would! I can’t wait to share it with you as part of the #itsacolorfullifetour hosted by the most colourful, creative and stylish Jennifer from Dimples and Tangles + Jewel from Jeweled Interiors.  If you have come from DIY Decor Mom … WELCOME! As most of you know, we are slowly renovating our new forever home and while half the house is ..read more

Arabella, Bella, Beellah, Bee, BB. Daughter, Big sister, Little sister. Virgo. Creative, Genuine, Quirky, Loyal, Witty, Considerate. Alternate music fan, Thrift shopper, Crystal collector. I love this kid … but when she requested a ‘Boho’ style bedroom I had to question where she came from. Really? Boho? in my house? Ummmmm …. NOPE! But, I also know that we all have our our style and I want Bella’s bedroom to feel like her home, her sanctuary and her special haven. I want to let her personality shine through and let the room tell her story.  She told me she wanted a ‘Boho’ vibe, after di ..read more

Are DIY shutters really DIY?
Mum Little LOVES!
by Hayley

I’ve always loved the look of plantation shutters, there’s something so sophisticated about them, yet they are also casual and classic. They complement nearly every home style and are very practical. I knew I wanted shutters in my office space for a few reasons. Firstly, our office is right at the front of our home, it is visible from the street and I knew shutters would compliment the curb appeal, they look just as beautiful from the outside as they do inside. I would eventually like to match the entire front elevation of  our house with the same plantation shutters. Secondly, the ..read more

Christmas at the Little’s 2021
Mum Little LOVES!

This year has been crazy, and just like the rest of the world we decided to take the opportunity to do some more renovations on our house while we’ve been spending so much time at home. Having half the house under construction really hindered my Christmas decorating efforts. So, I focused on the one and only clean space in my home right now, our living room, which also happens to be my favourite room to decorate. I can’t wait to share it with you as part of the #itsacolorfullifetour hosted by one of the most stylish gals around – Jennifer from Dimples and Tangles IT’S A COLORFUL LIFE 2021 CH ..read more

Lucy’s bedroom
Mum Little LOVES!

Last of the kids bedrooms, I’m not sure I’m finished this room, something doesn’t feel right, but it’s a work in progress. A few small updates have made a big difference and Lucy is happy. We didn’t really have a plan for this space, we started by identifying the problems and finding solutions for them first. Lucy is 20 now and apparently her room made her feel like a little girl, she thought there was too much colour, too many patterns and too little mirrors … seriously! The issues we needed to address was her need for more desk space and the fact that one of her windows looks directly into ..read more

I manifested a new sofa …
Mum Little LOVES!

I hate wasted space! I have this area in our bedroom, it is front of a beautiful bay window, it is one of the loveliest spots in our home, especially on a winters morning with the sun beaming through the windows. It had a sofa, a chair and a couple of side tables. It was not cohesive, it looked messy and it was not inviting. The sofa was too small and would only seat one person comfortably, plus it was far too squishy to lay down on. The chair was more suitable for a dining or office space. The side tables were just adding to the disorganised clutter. Basically it was a mish mash of things tha ..read more

Orly’s Dog Bedroom
Mum Little LOVES!

Who remembers when I was all excited to create a summer camp style bedroom for Orly? I was planning log bedside tables, brightly coloured wall pennants and striped blankets … then I stumbled across the most adorable curtain fabric … I fell in love and everything changed. EMMA BRIDGEWATER FOR TUISS BLINDS ONLINE When I saw Tuiss Blinds Online had a range of Emma Bridgwater fabrics available for curtains and blinds, I knew I was going to love them. I popped online for a little sneak peek thinking I could use them somewhere else in my house, then I saw the Dogs Multi fabric. I knew I had to use t ..read more
