I suppose I'd better put up a post about tomorrow's game, but everybody knows the script, plot, maybe even the score. Will it really matter in the long term as long as we get enough points to be 10th or better? Of course it does, but do the players feel the same, or the manager? It's only words, but here's Monty's take on things. “It was a difficult few days after the Motherwell game and reflecting on the disappointment of missing out on the top six. When we spoke about that, it was looking across the season and in many games we were in winning positions but lost 12 points from winning positi ..read more

Onward, onward rode the five hundred, into the valley of death they thundered (apologies to Manfred Mann) Our final five fixtures are as follows: 5 - Saturday 27 April, 2024 – St Johnstone (A) – 3pm kick-off 4 - Saturday 4 May, 2024 – Ross County (A) – 3pm kick-off 3 - Sunday 12 May, 2024 – Aberdeen (H) – 3pm kick-off 2 - Wednesday 15 May, 2024 – Motherwell (H) – 7.45pm kick-off 1 - Sunday 19 May, 2024 – Livingston (A) – 3pm kick-off Not quite 500 miles to travel in the next month, but it will be the valley of death if we don't get a grip and show how good we can be. Each of these teams ..read more

There's not much to say about this game as Hibs have to win it to stand a chance of a Top6 place, depending on Dundee's last 2 games. To be honest, I'd rather we didn't finish in the top half, as we'll get thumped at least thrice, maybe even 5 times. It looks as though Hibs need to score 3 or 4 goals in every game to compensate for our defensive mistakes. But are our forwards really that interested in doing that ..read more

After the International break, Hibs find themselves back in League action with the daunting task of a trip to Ibrox. I can only see this going one way and I feel most Hibs fans would snatch your hand off if a point was offered. In all games I have seen , highlights admittedly, Hibs continue to give away soft and silly goals. One place you cannot afford to be so lax is Ibrox. It may be a case of trying to protect their goal difference as that might prove crucial later on. Will be on my way back from Banbury so will try to keep updated with all the action from Glasgow ..read more

After the disappointment following Sundays Cup exit to sevco, Hibs face the long trek North to face Ross County on Wednesday night. A very difficult game with the Staggies fighting for every point. Hibs will be without Boyle and I don't know on whether Vente and Miller will be available? It'll be the turn of the Hibs players to be a little leggy with the Ross players well rested. I feel Montgomery needs to win Wednesday and the home game on Saturday to keep the Hibs fans onside! Although, apparently, the team are playing better they need to start winning games on a consistent basis ..read more

Sunday sees Sevco come to Easter Road for their Scottish Cup quarter final. After a tough test in Portugal this Thursday this is probably a fixture they could do without. Should be an interesting game with Hibs well rested after their win last weekend v Ross. There are signs down Easter Road that Montgomery has a settled starting 11 with a number of the January signings proving themselves. Ticket sales for the game apparently have not been the best but things are not helped by the 5.30 kick off and it being Mothering Sunday. This will be Hibs last chance of trips to Hampden and silverware fo ..read more

Third game in a week for Mongomerys Hibs and having bagged 4 points so far they must be looking to make that 7 today. Ross are scrapping for their SPL lives so it won't be easy and in the past I remember that this is the sort of game that Hibs make a pigs ear of! They have some good forward thinking players so with Hibs defense not being the best there could be a few goals.........watch it be a 0 . 0 draw now. Simon Murray in particular will be keen to put one over his old club and he is a good predatory striker. I wonder if VAR will again play a part and for one I hate it. It should be us ..read more

Wednesday night throws up an interesting Edinburgh derby clash. Hearts will be smarting after their visit to Ibroke last Saturday, whilst not affecting their foothold on third in the SPL they will want to get it out of their system, especially in front of their own supporters. Most Hibs were hoping Shankland would score and make the score 5 . 1 There are a couple of green shoots appearing down Easter Road way with some of their new players showing they can do a job for Nick Montgomery. NM seems to have 3 midfielders in his starting 11 these days which has given a better balance to the team ..read more

Hibs now get the chance to improve on last week's draw at Aberdeen with a home game against Dundee. All the statisitcs point to a Hibs victory, but at present Hibs can't buy a win for love nor money, whereas Dundee have won their last 2 games. Admittedly they were against Ross County and St Johnstone, but I've seen or heard nothing to suggest we would fare any better. Nick Montomery on the game “They’re all massive games. It’s at home, we have a good run of games at home in the last eight games before the split, so that’s a real opportunity for us. I’m hoping there’s a really good crowd there ..read more

A long trip up the A9 (weather permitting) for what will possibly prove to be a season-defining game for Hibs against Super Caley in the Scottish Cup. Following Hibs' much-improved display against Celtic last night, there will be a new confidence in the team. OK, we still lost (again), but we showed we can be an exciting team to watch. We just need to convert the excitement into cool, clinical finishing. I'm expecting goals galore from this game, probably going right down to the wire for a Hibs win. ICT will be no pushovers, though, and I'm certain Duncan Ferguson will have his players fired ..read more
