I’ve had a session with Shalista in the past, and I always love her photos. I also think she's a positive person and truly enjoys what she does which makes you feel so comfortable I always knew I wanted to do another session. When I got engaged I knew this was the perfect opportunity to do another session. Shalista's photos are always absolutely amazing and I knew she would be the perfect fit. Before the session, I was nervous and a little stressed (I always get stressed before ANY photo session because I put A LOT of thought into my wardrobe, lol). But, I knew from working with her before ..read more

A friend of mine told me about her experience with a boudoir session with Shalista. When I saw the photos, I knew I wanted to hire her because I could tell by the photo the people in them felt comfortable with her, and I loved what the camera was capturing. I thought the photos would be a great birthday gift for my husband. It would be a unique birthday gift! I was nervous I would hate all the pictures and wouldn't know how to even pose sexy. It turned out to be an extremely comfortable experience, and I wasn't embarrassed at all. Shalista made me feel very comfortable and is a very easy wo ..read more

My body has dramatically changed after being overweight most of my life and losing over 100 lbs. I wanted to do a boudoir session to see myself differently than I have most of my life. I am 48 years old and want to preserve the image of what my body looks like now I had doubts about doing a boudoir shoot. I was nervous and anxious and nearly canceled the appointment. I am SO happy that I didn't! From the moment I stepped in the door, the experience was wonderful. Shalista has incredible sets for the photos and additional lingerie (a huge rack of it!) if you are looking for something you don ..read more

I have been on Shalista’s Facebook page for at least 2 years. She seemed like a fun person to work with. I had wanted to do a session for years! Still, I was anxious, nervous, scared, questioning whether I'd actually pull it off and look half decent. I decided to have photos taken because I'd wanted to do it for a few years now and it felt like the right time. My husband said go for it. I was so nervous, because of body confidence issues. When I arrived there were so many unknowns and my stomach full of butterflies. The hair and makeup was first, and it just had me feeling so good! The phot ..read more

I would recommend a boudoir photoshoot to ANYONE who is on the fence about it. It truly is an empowering experience. Initially, I was SO WORRIED about all my blemishes and problem areas. Once the shoot started, while in a pose, Shalista and I had an intimate conversation that made me feel so comfortable. My husband and I are going through an infertility journey, and I just wanted to feel beautiful in such an ugly journey! I have heard so many great things about Shalista and actually had a personal friend refer me. My friend had pictures done through Shalista and they were stunning! I was s ..read more

I came across your website when looking online for a photographer. After seeing the beautiful photos you took and the amazing reviews, I decided that you would be the one. I've always wanted to do a boudoir session. I was hesitant and thought that I was now too old to do something like this. Viewing the pictures posted on your website made me realize that the "maybe someday" that I always told myself needed to be sooner than later. Prior to the shoot, I was nervous, but so very excited! I was wondering if the outfits I chose would work, if I would pose the right way, and what I would look lik ..read more

I would recommend this to experience everyone! It was one of the best spit second decisions I ever made. Don't let the doubts and insecurities in your head get in the way of what your heart is trying to tell you! Anyone can do this! Absolutely anyone! Any profession, any body type, any age, ANYONE! That was one the doubts I had going into this: "I am a mom, I can't do this; I am not young and 20 anymore; women in my profession don't do something like this!" But you know what? We are all human, we are all women, and we need to be celebrated more. So do something for you! Do something that is o ..read more

I’ve always been very critical and self conscious of my body; especially after 3 babies. I wanted to feel sexy and do something unexpected for my husband as an anniversary surprise. I’d been following boudoirs for a long time and always thought some day. I jumped to it one day and set up a phone call, booked and completed my shoot. It was AMAZING! Witley and Shalista make you feel welcomed, relaxed and so pretty! I could not believe how many photos I didn’t just like but loved of myself even before any touch ups! I just thought “wait… that’s me?!?!?” I’m so excited to receive the book and giv ..read more

Busting your Boudoir Beliefs

Excuses, Excuses When something scares us we make excuses. Anything that makes us uncomfortable or gets us outside of our comfort zone, our body tells us to stop and take a step back. At the most primal level this is to protect us. But this can also keep you stuck. Not all anxiety is bad. Ever hear that phrase, “Everything good is on the other side of uncomfortable?” That’s boudoir. I don’t have time to take care of myself. Women are notorious for this. This includes myself.  I am so guilty. We make excuses not to love ourselves or not to take care of ourselves.   We make excuses tha ..read more
