Michele Johns Creates Custom Art Pieces from Photographs

A pretty common desire for my boudoir clients is to be able to display their gorgeous boudoir photographs on their walls. Although a lot of my clients are comfortable displaying their photographs for all to see, many of my clients expressed a desire for a more anonymous way to share their boudoir imagery. The Day a Thought Became Reality I received a call from a woman asking me if I could create custom pieces of art for her home for a gift for her husband! They had purchased a painting from a world renown painter that they loved and her husband started telling her he wanted art pieces of HER o ..read more

The past 8 weeks have been interesting and unsettling for the world. Like everyone, I was worried for the health and safety of friends, family, first responders, front line workers and anyone who was affected by the virus. I must admit, the last 2 weeks in March were the worst for me personally because I couldn't wrap my head around what was happening. I was worried about so many things, including my small businesses and how I would survive the shut down financially. I cried a lot and read as much as I could about what was going on. I knew I had to come out better than before the shut down. I ..read more

Photography saved my life
Michele Johns Photography Blog

A few months ago I wrote a blog post that would touch on some pretty personal topics for me, you can read it HERE. I had no idea that it would be the beginning of a whole new life for me. Since I am a small business owner, I often attend networking events to get to know other small business owners. I met a woman who hired me to update her headshots. We kept in touch and she invited me to a book launch where she was a contributing author. I had no idea what her story was about but I wanted to support her. I took my daughter with me who was 10 at the time. There was a game to collect points to w ..read more

Some bombshells know right away that they are ready for a boudoir experience while others may want to have their own shoot but may be a little more nervous or unsure. This bombshell fell in love with my work but wasn't quite ready to see herself in her own shoot. After being a member of my private Facebook group for a while, she finally decided to make the choice that even though she still thought she wasn't ready, SHE WANTED TO BE READY. We planned her perfect wardrobe together and what we created is so perfect for her first boudoir experience. I am so excited to see the shift in her and her ..read more

Avoid these Boudoir Faux Pas During your Boudoir Session

Boudoir Faux Pas - What to avoid when planning for your boudoir shoot Here are some great tips on what to avoid when planning for your boudoir shoot. Bad Tan Lines/Sunburn – If you have not been tanning recently, don’t tan just before your session. You can get sunburned or really bad tan lines, which are not flattering in photos. Also avoid spray tans since they tend to photograph poorly. (Unless you regularly go and TRUST your salon.... it still makes me nervous though...) Getting drunk before your boudoir session – If you are nervous about your session, it’s OK to have a glass of wine to res ..read more

What is Glamour Boudoir with Michele Johns Photography?

When I first started exploring the idea of boudoir years ago and was looking at different images to see what it was that I loved and was drawn to, I quickly figured out what I didn't like about certain images and what I thought Boudoir Photography COULD BE for women. Boudoir photographers range in style - from sets, wardrobe, lighting skill and posing skill. I knew what angles I would NEVER shoot and what I wanted MY style to be like. I have always loved the black and white Hollywood Glamour of the 1940's... the style, class and elegance of the era. I knew I wanted to create my own version of ..read more

#mywhy #lifepurpose #glamourboudoir #austinboudoir #boudoirphotographer #bodypositivity #austinphotographer I am so excited to share another video in my series of videos recorded in our Glamour Boudoir Studio in Round Rock, Texas, just 15 miles north of Austin, Texas. I am often asked why I chose boudoir to specialize in. It wasn't easy for me to explain at first, I just loved it. I loved how it made other women feel. I loved how it made me feel. Like most women, I struggle with at least SOMETHING about my body. As a full figured woman myself, I am no stranger to having a love hate relationshi ..read more
