This is the AMT release of the 1969 Chevrolet Corvair. I picked this up from Ebay. When it arrived, there were 2 almost complete kits in the box. One of the engines was started but that's about it. This was pretty straight forward. I knew what color I wanted as it was inspired by something I saw on the web. The paint is Duplicolor Chevrolet red and the clear is Minwax Poly. +6 I got this along with a handful of others from a buddy years ago. He had used a testors green from the rattle can. Well, I like blue so I blew it all apart and stripped everything. I used craft acrylic metal flake paint mixed 2:1 with alcohol and shot at 20psi. The clear is 4 coats of Duplicolor. The interior is painted with my gloss mix of black acrylic. +5 I remember building this as a kid but I have no idea what happened to it. I saw this at a show built up painted an ungodly green color with black interior and a green stripe in the seats. I talked the guy down from 15 to 10 and took her home and stripped everything. I painted it with craft acrylic paint. This stuff came with metal flake. I put on 4 coats of Duplicolor clear. +2 This is the Monogram release of the '70 Dodge Challenger T/A. It came molded in that really cool dark red metal flake with Turtle Wax. I didnt care for the hood scoop but I noticed the hood was cut to fit the shaker. I was able to score a shaker from someone on another forum. I went with the 426 HEMI and wired it, added a throttle cable, heater hoses and a fuel line. I had to cut the exhaust so they could connect to the headers.
