I had, for years, a Marantz tuner/amp which I used to play audio from my Dell laptop via 3.5mm stereo jack into Aux in No issues, until the amplifier right channel recently suddenly started putting DC into the right speaker. I will repair this later. In the meantime, I replaced the amp with a Technics unit. Using CD in and also tried Tape Playback in. Hi I have an Ibasso DX170 which I love and the sound is fantastic using I.E.M's the output is sufficient to drive them even on the low setting. I bought a "proper" set of over ear headphones , a pair of RODE NTH 100 but the DX170 doesn't really have the power to drive them so I am lookng for a desktop amp. I was advised that an IFI nano idsd would do the job so I bought a SH one off ebay but it doesn't work, it is like the music is speeded up and clipped so I will be sending it back. Can... So I got an Rhode NT1 mic and a Scarlett 2 Solo. And now I try to figure out how to adjust everything properly. I use Adobe audition for the sound editing and use also AudioSonus VST plugins that deal with breaths, plosives, and sharp syllables. My idea is get a warm, deep, and rich sound.
