I'm looking to start a '35 truck and I'd like to build it around the 5.2 Aluminator, but I'm feeling pretty lost on what transmission to go with. Definitely want to go with an auto if possible and have the car be fairly street friendly, this is not going to be a track toy. Any advice or recommendations would be very appreciated ..read more

Cockpit wiring sealing

How in heavens name can you seal all the wiring that has to pass through the top of the trans tunnel to the engine bay? There are so many sections of conduit that caulking seems impractical. Has anyone used expanding foam? I really would like to keep the cockpit atmosphere as clean as possible since much of the time here in SoCal will be windows up and A/C on (33 Hotrod with hardtop ..read more

I am one of those guys lurking in the shadows, reading and learning while slowly working on #139. I have not posted pictures because I was looking for something different. You guys have some awesome builds. My build has been slow. I received my kit in Oct. 2009. With kids and work, progress has been very slow, but I have been pecking away at it. I have had to do a lot of custom work, which adds hours and hours. Here is what I am using: 2003 DOHC 4.6 Fast XFI Fast XIM 4r70W Auto... Introducing #139 w/4.6 6-71 Blower ..read more

Any Ohio area 33 coupes?

I’m looking to finally delve into one of these. After many years of finding cars and them not being quite what I wanted, I realize that only I can build exactly what I want. With that being said, if there is anyone with a 33, prefer a coupe, bonus points if it’s a gen 2, in western Ohio/eastern Indiana and wouldn’t mind someone sitting in it and possibly give a ride…. I’ll fill your tank and buy ya a meal for your time. Thanks in advance ..read more

Cummins 4BT in a '35 Truck

My Dad and I are starting to think about pulling the trigger on the '35 Hot Rod Truck. We're trying to figure out the feasibility of dropping in a Cummins 4BT to do something a little more unique and fitting for a pickup. I've searched high and low, and it doesn't look like this has been done before. A gentleman I spoke with at Factory Five confirmed this and said the only FF diesel builds he was familiar with used Volkswagen's TDI motor. While a highly-efficient, torquey, and all-around... Checked efi with hand held and no errors, fuel @ 43 #, Talked to Fast Tech. who told me to put 12v on white wire on RPM Module and it should fire injectors but did not, next told me to ground yellow wire from the ECM harness and injectors should fire, no luck... fast ez -efi starting problem ..read more

1/16th MIle of fun at Road America's Front Straight.

R.A. sponsored short drag racing on their front straight last Tuesday night. Since I've never tried such things, I went with the '33 and had some fun. The tires were purchased for the car in 2010, I believe and have about 16K miles on them. So, they're hard as bricks and not much for grabbing traction from a standing start. Even so, the light weight of the '33 helped with some of the cars I raced. Big horsepower and better tires of other cars won out, however. Three short videos stitched... 1/16th MIle of fun at Road America's Front Straight ..read more

Hose for Coolant Overflow Tank

For various reasons I decided to do away with FFR supplied coolant overflow tank which was mounted to the firewall and replace it with a larger capacity aftermarket unit that could be mounted much closer to the radiator. The only issue with the new tank is that the inlet & outlet nipples are an oddball 7/16 size which limits the overflow hose options. I found an rubber Saint-Gobain Tygon A-60-G tubing which is chemical and abrasion resistant. It has a maximum temp rating of 275 degrees and... Hose for Coolant Overflow Tank ..read more
