Traverse City is one of Michigan’s top travel destinations, no matter the season. Right now we’re in the shoulder season between winter’s outdoor sports and spring’s cherry blossoms and wine festival. It’s a quieter time of the year to visit Traverse City which means you’ll have your choice of the region’s best restaurants, tasting rooms, and accommodations (and score a great rate too!). That’s what makes March or April the perfect time for a romantic getaway up north ..read more

Looking for plus size outfit inspiration for an upcoming trip to Savannah, Georgia? I’ve got you covered with a vacation style lookbook of my favorite outfits I’ve packed for Savannah over the years. I know how hard it is to find travel style inspiration specifically for curvy girls, and that’s why it’s important to me to create that exact type of content. Savannah isn’t as dressy as Charleston, nor is it a luxury shopping destination like its South Carolina sister city ..read more

Savannah, Georgia calls us back year after year. Most trips start with grabbing a to-go cup from a River Street bar and meandering through its squares blooming with azaleas while sipping mint juleps. Kyle and I have vacationed in Savannah each year since honeymooning there in 2008. We even lived in Savannah for a short time, so our love of the Lowcountry runs deep. Some people come to Savannah for its history. The city was established in 1733, so there’s a lot of history here with museums and monuments at every turn ..read more

Earlier this month, I took a girls trip to Key West with my fashion friend Anne of the plus size style blog Curls and Contours. In the weeks leading up to our trip, we shopped and planned our looks together. And we had such a blast styling and shooting our looks on vacation! I packed a mix of items from my closet, as well as new purchases from some of my favorite stores like SPELL, Anthropologie, and Nordstrom ..read more

Looking for the ultimate spring break getaway? Home of the key lime pie, Key West is a quirky little slice of paradise perched at the southernmost point of the US. Most people come to Key West for the turquoise ocean views, fresh seafood, and bar-hopping down Duval Street. But you’ll also find historic house museums and forts, a botanical garden and butterfly conservatory, and a thriving LGBTQI+ scene. I highly recommend booking a Dry Tortugas snorkel tour – it’s my favorite Key West memory ..read more

For the past several years, Kyle and I have taken late winter getaways down south for a warm reprieve from the Michigan weather. We typically plan these trips for March or April during that transitional period between winter and spring., while it’s still cold in Michigan. If there’s not still snow on the ground, then it’s rainy and muddy and miserable. But after a week down south, we come back home and we’re that much closer to springtime and sunshine ..read more

Looking for plus size ski trip style inspiration? You’ve come to the right place! But first, some background. A few years ago, I got it into my head that I wanted to take a ski trip. I blame Instagram and all these model-type travel influencers traipsing off to St. Moritz, Switzerland and Vail, Colorado in their chic snow bunny outfits eating cheese fondue and posing in front of timber-frame lodges and snow-covered mountains. I told my husband Kyle I wanted to take a ski trip, and he, in that sensible deeply annoying way of his replied, ‘But we don’t ski?!’ And so I begrudgingly shelved the i ..read more

Boston, Massachusetts is a bustling city that attracts history lovers, architecture buffs, and baseball fans from near and far. Boston is America’s oldest metropolis, but today the city is a hub for leaders across industries like finance, technology, engineering, and higher education. It was business that brought my husband Kyle and I to Boston, but of course we made time for play as well.
Boston is home to a dynamic restaurant scene, iconic institutions and museums, and one of the nation’s most beloved sports stadiums: Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox ..read more

Salem, Massachusetts is a wildly popular fall destination, especially around Halloween time. The Salem witch trials of 1692 have had a long and lasting legacy, earning Salem the nickname ‘Witch City.’ Some tourists come for the history, others for the haunts, and others to experience a real-life Halloweentown. If you’re wondering what to wear on a trip to Salem, I have lots of ideas for you in this post!
All October long in Salem, you’ll see lots of people in costumes and dressed on-theme for Halloween ..read more
