Yesterday morning, I politely went to the Scotrail manned station level ticket office at the Argyle Street entrance to Glasgow Central Station. I showed my Glasgow to a Midlands station train tickets for later in the day and asked for 2 x Glasgow PlusBus tickets to do a few hours touring around before our train back. Over the course of the next couple of minutes I was told "PlusBus doesn't exist anymore", "this is a train station, you'll have to ask on the bus" and "Glasgow doesn't do it"...

Our local bus was cut from half-hourly to hourly last year. Today, two successive services were turned short meaning we had a three hour gap between buses.
Is the operator likely to face any real consequences for this?
The cut last year came on the back of them regularly cancelling services meaning passenger numbers dropped due to the unreliability of the service. As they managed to run the rest of the route without cuts it almost seems as if they are willing to sacrifice our part of the...

This will be a massive hammer blow if the Council and Coal Pension Properties can't come to an arrangement and there is no replacement built before 2027.
Edinburgh bus station under threat as owners plan to end lease with council
The future of Edinburgh Bus Station is hanging in the balance as its owners could attempt to redevelop the city centre site, it is understood.

I've noticed an increase on E400mmcs on the 415, with 1961, 1967 and 1968 all operating the route according to Bustimes.org. Is Selby expecting more E400mmcs in the near future and where will the Gemini 2s that they're displacing go? Also, how long is 2578 staying on for? I believe its one of the few Commanders left at Arriva Yorkshire, its been operating 496s so far today ..read more

I was surprised to find the other day that the bus from Guildford to Farnham was fast than the train service at certain times of the day.
So 19 minutes vs 23 minutes by train. At other times it seems to be 23 minutes, which matches the train service. I'm using today's times, may be during Monday to Friday rush hour, that isn't the case. On Sundays there is no bus or a direct train service to Farnham so the train would be faster.
This got me wondering, what other bus services are faster...

We went to the Black Country Living Museum today, for a birthday treat, and we had a ride on this beauty…. (photo is of Midland Red double-decker BMMO 6342HA)
I fondly remember these from my youth, and was so pleased it was the traction for today. I also remember single decker Midland Red buses at the time. I believe the double deckers were built exclusively for Midland Red? But not sure about the single deckers? Does any know where I can find more information about these...

Hi all,
First post (from Australia), and probably a bit of a long one.
I own a 1979 Mercedes 0303 Bus/Coach, which has been converted into a Motorhome. In largely typical fashion at the time, it would have been shipped here to Australia as a chassis with a front on it, and a local Coach builder (Ansair) then built the body and commissioned the Coach.
It's a typical 36"/11M MR Bus of the era, running an OM422 (14.6lt V8) and - in this case - an Allison 5-speed auto. trans.
I'm told that...
