Crossovers at Central would give passengers from the north a better chance of getting into the city to connect with other services, if there are problems further south. Likewise, they would allow services from the south to terminate if there are problems within the CBD zone. I would have thought flexibility to limit inconvenience to passengers would be a priority. The SMHerald of 24.4.24 reports on community concerns that city-bound traffic in the Transurban-owned WestConnex tunnels was being given proirity over other approaches to the Anzac Bridge via the congestion-plagued Rozelle Interchange. It is noted that ramp metering (one vehicle per green) is installed on the Victoria Road, City West Link, and the Iron Cove Link, but not on the WestConnex Tunnels.
