I recently came across this digital archive of Compute! magazine issues from the 80s. It's a lot of fun flipping through them to read the articles, look at the ads, check out the reviews and even the type-in programs!
Link to the archive:

Here's an issue from October 1983 if you want to get an idea of what it's like:

To make a long story short my Xbox Adaptive Controller could make many adjustments I want. The one adjustments I can't make on either the Xbox adaptive controller or the Xbox operating system using the accessories app is X-axis flipping.
I have gotten a PC 15 flight stick working with the Xbox adaptive controller by using a pc15 USB adapter.
If there was such a pre-made device as a PC 15 x-axis and pc15 y-axis flipper that would be a perfect thing for me, (assuming it's in my price range)
I understand the pc15 standard is some sort of analog standard which just ..read more

Greetings - pretty much exactly what the topic says. Tandy made for a while a computer called the. Tandy 1000 and the early models combined the keyboard with either a 2x3.5 floppy (hard disk optional), or single 3.5 (hard disk optional).
Now I love the form factor of these for a certain hobby I have, but Tandy was using proprietary ports and limited the amount of memory and (I believe) they did not support DOS 6.22 either.
My REQUIREMENTS are: all in one (keyboard and CPU all in one), real RS232 port, VGA out, and I would PREFER 1 3x5, 1 5.25 and hard disk plus VGA. I ..read more

Hi, I'm in quite a pickle. I can't decide on which ZX Spectrum emulator for desktop is better? Hence why I created a poll to hopefully help myself decide.
This is happening because I discover another emulator called Retro Virtual Machine and it seems comparable to ZEsarUX.
So, now what?
Bonus question: which emulator do you recommend for Android and/or Chromebook? I kinda heard iPads are outta the question due to Apple being Apple ..read more

There are a couple games where'd like to invert the X, the Y or both axises. I was planning to use a PC15 one handed joystick for my stick and "half a hitbox" as my action buttons on everything from modern to pre-crash consoles. I have an Xbox Adaptive controller, which uses a PC15 via a USB converter.
There are 2 reasons I want a voltage based PC15 axis converter. The first is I don't know if "system settings" on the XAC hold up on other consoles after going through Brook converters. The second is there is no way to invert the X axis on the settings of an XAC in ..read more
