Recently “the cloud” has become a vital part of technology, and Cloud Engineering jobs have been brought to the limelight. Cloud technologies have greatly influenced how we interact with computers both for work and play. The good news is, you don’t have to have a degree in computer science to understand the Cloud. In this article, you will learn about Cloud Engineering and why this part of tech has become very important in how we think about innovation today.
A Quick Backstory – Before The Cloud
Before cloud computing, there was client/server computing, a centralized location where all softwa ..read more

Balance. The goal for many adults involved in multiple things simultaneously in and out of our careers. I am a Software Engineer in big tech with some mentoring and volunteering engagements. Over time, I have learned how to succeed polyworking in these multiple roles and this article would address how I did it
To understand why this article is important, let’s learn about these three roles:
Software Engineering : As my day job, I build Mixed Reality on the Cloud at Microsoft. For me, this involves writing design documents, coding and infrastructure engineering.
Mentoring : I usually volunte ..read more

I’ve been having mixed feelings about doing a 2021 retrospective online. Mostly because 2021 was the best year of my life, but it was also my worst.
It’s like the year shared itself in two halves – The first one being very terrible and the last one being overly amazing! This year, I fought a lot. Fought with my family, fought depression, almost killed myself, fought with my friends, fought for my identity, fought with myself as well. I never really talked about it once on the internet. I’d always post about tech, post banter or post my unsolicited opinion and everyone would assume I was ..read more

Hey there , I know I haven’t written an article at all this year . I’ve had a very eventful year, but I’m back now (hopefully) and today I’m writing about something I find interesting. THE METAVERSE.
First of all, before trying to go deep into this article, I’m going to explain what the metaverse is (for people that don’t know – maybe because they live in a different planet).
Earlier this year, Microsoft announced Mesh: A platform that allows people collaborate and communicate in mixed reality as if they are in the same space.
Niantic also announced they are relea ..read more

It’s getting close to Christmas and the end of the year
Here, I’ve made a list of affordable gift ideas for your friends in tech! Most of these are relatively simple things that don’t require that you break the bank as the year has been hard on a lot of people.
Doing one or more of these things can certainly put a smile on someone’s face, if you’re interested in buying your tech friend a nice gift for the holidays, I’d suggest you keep reading this.
Gift cards
Give your friends vouchers or gift cards from their favorite stores. So that they can buy whatever they want.
It’s a win-win. Y ..read more

As Software Engineers, at some point in our careers we are either going to be creating or consuming external APIs. In this post, I broke down the common HTTP Request Methods that exist today.
What is HTTP?
HTTP (full name Hypertext Transfer Protocol) is a protocol designed for clients applications to communicate with servers. Usually, a client sends the request and a server receives that, performs some action and sends a response back to the client. The response usually contains status information about the request and could contain other additional information.
Other protocols exist today bu ..read more

Hey there,
It’s been a long time since I wrote an article but I plan to get back to doing this often because I have learned a lot in the past few months that I would love to share with developers that are interested.
One of the things that I have learned are about doing Infrastructure automation with actual programming languages that I use everyday. I have come to appreciate this a lot because this means that provisioning infrastructure for me means I have to worry about one less thing (learning a new programming language) that might not have been the case before now.
Quick background before ..read more

You know how they say Tech in movies are more advanced than the real world? Well, I can’t tell you if that’s going to be different and the real world would catch up soon. However, I can say that innovation in technology has never been more exciting and you should join the wave if you’re still thinking about it.
