Man did the stars come out to play on September 18th. The current kings of mainstream country radio and of indie Luke Combs, and Tyler Childers respectively released new singles along with another Muscadine Bloodline song and tracks by Adam Doleac and Brandon Lay that participated in Friday’s action. Technically Childers put out an album but it’s all instrumental so we won’t really cover it in depth. Keith Urban released his “Speed of Now,” album he’s been gearing up for a while now, and the great songwriter Luke Laird dropped his debut album, “Music Row.” Below I will rank the new releases f ..read more

If jampacked needed a definition the definition would be new country music released on September 25th, 2020. Let me take a few breaths before I list the overview… Muscadine Bloodline’s debut album “Burn It at Both Ends!” Granger Smith’s 10th studio album “Country Things!” “You Time,” is Scotty McCreery’s first piece of new music since early 2018! Chris Stapleton’s second new song of 2020 “Cold!” Huge news from Matt Stell announcing his single “Better Than That,” is the lead single off of a new EP! “Whiskey and Rain,” is Michael Ray’s first new song since 2018 and his divorce with Carly Pearce ..read more

Que the fire and flames! Did you see the Chris Stapleton teaser trailer for his new album “Starting Over,” that will be released on November 13th!? With a heavy beat and flames in the background Stapleton announced that he will be releasing his next studio album. Completely contradicting his initial post though he released his lead single, “Starting Over,” and it is everything you would expect from a Stapleton song. Granger Smith had the next biggest announcement of the week, he released two new songs and made an album announcement as well. On September 25th, Smith’s 10th studio album, “Count ..read more

September 4th has been a highly anticipated day for me since I started TailoredCowboy, one of my favorite new artists has just released his debut album. That artist is HARDY, and that album is “A ROCK,” (that review will be up later on Friday). Sticking with the album news Tyler Rich also put out his debut album “Two Thousand Miles,” and Josh Kerr and Lauren Alaina both dropped EPs. On the singles side of things Carly Pearce, Kelsea Ballerini, and Muscadine Bloodline all put out new songs that created this Friday a neck to neck to neck race for the #1 spot. Slightly out of the top 3, songwrit ..read more

Before readers (other than my Multimedia teacher) get excited that Tailored Cowboy has returned, it is not the long-term plan. I still want to keep the URL for TC to show future employers but although it was fun writing about country music during quarantine and throughout the year of 2020, I don’t see myself becoming a country music journalist. I may still write about country music in my future, but I’ve loved sports all my life and I hope to land somewhere in the field of sports journalism. But for now, if you have returned, enjoy the second of two blogs I must write for class. This intro wa ..read more

Album Review: Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album”
Tailored Cowboy Blog

There ain’t nothing like new music from Morgan Wallen to cure a writer’s block! But in all honesty, my first ever article on TailoredCowboy featured “More Than My Hometown,” my first article after the break I took during the summer featured “7 Summers,” and now we have the “Dangerous” double album to talk about. There are not many artists that can give you chills while listening to multiple songs of theirs in an album, Morgan Wallen just added his name to the list. Yes, If I Know Me, had “Whiskey Glasses,” “Up, Down,” and “Chasin’ You,” as big hits but the first two were party anthems, the la ..read more

Offseason Baseball Workouts With Dahveed (Final Project) Take a look inside Point Park's Student Center weightroom. PPU's Strength and Conditioning coach Dahveed Jorge chats about why offseason workouts are important. The players talk about their relationship with Jorge and what they love about the grind off the field. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDu1fQuMKCs I used the VJ Kit to film this project. I used the song "Beyond The Line" by Benjamin Tissot and I grabbed it from Bensound, a loyalty free music site. I edited all the clips and threw them together then I placed the music in the backg ..read more

2020 CMA Awards: A “Hell of a View”

Yes, it was a “Hell of a View” finally seeing Eric Church give an acceptance speech while holding the coveted CMA Entertainer of the Year trophy. In his acceptance speech, The Chief preached, “It’s gonna be the music that brings us out of this. That is the one thing that is gonna save the entire world. Politicians are about division; music is about unity.” Maybe a moment even more wholesome than Church actually holding the award and speaking was the pregame toast held by the Church, Pardi, and Combs’ table. After the toast when Church’s name was announced, Combs had the biggest eruption of ch ..read more

ALBUM REVIEW: Florida Georgia Line’s “Life Rolls On”
Tailored Cowboy Blog
by Noah Bieniek

DISCLAIMER: Before you read this just know I have always credited Florida Georgia Line for bridging me to country music through their classic genre bending hit “Cruise.” Florida Georgia Line has released five albums in their career, the album Life Rolls On,” ranks number 5 of 5. Honestly, this is the worst collection of music FGL has put out and nothing has been as good as their early career hits because of the departure of producer Joey Moi from the FGL team. Moi is still working with some of the best in the business after Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley split with him. Moi’s roster has names ..read more
