Hi. Recently received a positive urethral swab for HSV2 and HSV1. This was a self test at home and sent on to the lab. I've been getting pretty much constant urethritis symptoms for the last 6 months with barely any respite. I've never gotten any blisters or the classic symptoms. All other tests have come back normal several times including MG and Ureaplasma. Why are my symptoms not following the classic outbreaks you would normally see? Hello all. This is the 2nd, confirmatory test result that came back. I am no doctor and have been told I am HSV 2 positive. No symptoms and I had 2 tests that were taken a couple weeks after I think I may have been exposed. I think that I was exposed only because of these test results. I am looking into Western Blot and have had no symptoms to speak of, except the hyper awareness of every little thing down there now. Can anyone help me clarify what this test result means? I was recently diagnosed with GHSV-2 . I’ve had cold sores since I was little, but this just feels different. This feels like something I’m struggling coming to terms with. The fact that I have to carry this the rest of my life, and can pass it even without an outbreak and have to worry of having a second and third and so on. I didnt know what was going on with me my swab test came back as positive for ghsv1. I have had a long time partner i have been loyal i assume she has been too. Hi. I was just diagnosed with HSV 2. 5.8 index. Took a confirmation test and it came back abnormal. According to the lab, I am positive for HSV 2. This is the first time I have taken a test for HSV 2 as it was included in a 10 panel STI/STD test package.  I took the test because I slept with someone unprotected twice...once at the end of December and once at the beginning of January. I regretted it and took the 10 panel test as a precaution. Everything was negative except HSV 2. I took a second,confirmatory test, a few days later (blood test again) just for HSV 2. I was just diagnosed with hsv2 and I am very worried I've started a second outbreak a couple of days after I thought the first outbreak was clear.  I took 7 days of valcyclovir.  Could 7 days not have been enough?  It's been 3 days since I started to feel better and now I have that tingling again.  I am very worried and have no one to ask.  Please help ..read more
