Hey all, I got my OTC tag and have been itching to go - I graduated this December, so couldn't take any time off for January with my new job. Welp, my bow ran through the strings in only a year this go around, kinda bummed about it but when I took the bow in, come to find out the bottom limb is splintering off shooting straight out hanging about 6 or 7 inches long (around the thickness of 2-3 spaghetti strands right on the edge). On the last day of my traditional group deer and javelina hunt i had a blast. 10 folks in camp, 9 with longbows and one recurve. I had gotten into a bunch of Coues deer the afternoon before so started the morning by heading to that same area, just walking from camp. My house is surrounded by BLM and State trust land and I see deer come through next to my house all the time. I am aiming to land my first deer this year.
