I now have this radio all recapped. It has seven electrolytic caps in it. The sound is very good. The speaker weighs about 20 pounds, but it really puts out with no distortion. Dan in Calgary. Attachments: DSCN4925_resize.jpg DSCN4926_resize.jpg ..read more

Hi I’m restoring a 1936 Northern Electric model 105 radio. I need to replace the power transformer in this radio. It’s seen have been over heated. So I am looking for another power transformer for a 9 tube radio not including the rectifier tube. Primary 120 volts 3 amps Secondary #1 700 volts .2 amps (350 volts from the centre tap to each side) Secondary #2 6 volt 1.7 amps Secondary #3 7.8 volts 3 amps Please let me know if you have anything that might work. Thank you This topic was modified 50 minutes ago by Guido. This topic was modified 48 minutes ago by Guido. Attachments: 05D19FD5-DB ..read more

This one looks like it is in good condition. It has ten tubes with push pull 6F6 tubes.I checked all the tubes and they are good. The chassis is clean underneath, and only three caps have been replaced. I will recap it and hopefully get to the cabinet later this year. I do have the embossed knob for the dial. I think it is going to sound good. Dan in Calgary This topic was modified 2 hours, 51 minutes ago by Dan Walker. I am giving away a GRP-90 communications receiver. It is fully functional. The tuning capacitors could use a good blow-dusting to eliminate static. It comes with a manual, a box of assorted vacuum tubes, a frequency counter, and a functional tube tester. It is all free and looking for a good home. Due to size and weight, no shipping…pickup only in Montreal, Quebec. If interested, email me at hirschbjj@gmail.com ..read more
