We had a chat with the members of Glorious Din several months back. On June 7th of this year we received the sad news of drummer Pete Herstedt's passing. This may be the only recounting of the fascinating history and legacy of the band that includes Pete, Jay and Doug. Eric has had limited access to internet while living in Uganda due to corrupt government policies. Half the year is spent on his 100 acre compound located in Northern California (also with no internet) where he is completing his interview responses that will be published at a later date. Pete Herstedt, of Glorious Din, passed away Tuesday morning June 7th in Portland Oregon where he had been living with his wife, Cathy since the 90's. News of Pete's devastating passing came to us by way of Eric Cope earlier today. Earlier today guitarist, Jay Padget posted on the Glorious Din Facebook page. "I received some sad news from Pete's wife Cathy yesterday. After a struggle with cancer Pete passed away last week. Unbelievable. Singer Julee Cruise has died aged 65 after battling ill health. Best known for her song Falling, which was used as the theme tune for serial mystery drama Twin Peaks, Cruise passed away four years after revealing she was fighting autoimmune condition Lupus. Her husband, Edward Grinnan, wrote on Facebook: 'She left this realm on her own terms. No regrets. She is at peace... I played her [B-52's song] 'Roam' during her transition. As a pandemic put everything on hold literally everywhere in the world, many bands struggled to find a new path and cope with changes in the music industry, not to mention dealing with unexpected challenges such as canceled shows/tours, travel restrictions, and personal illness. Neonpocalypse is a new Stockholm-based solo project from Alex Svenson, who is also known for his work as lead vocalist in the dark post-punk band Then Comes Silence. The project has just released an EP on Swiss Dark Nights entitled -ISH which features six tracks -- four original songs and two remixes by Ash Code and Kurs.
