I have a issue with the washing machine door. The model is a Siemens WM12Q362GB/09, on the inside trim that surrounds the glass this is coming away from the hinge side. I thought the trim would be held by screws but not seems to be some white rivet style fixings that cannot be removed and these seem to be missing that side. Is this a case of replacing the whole door ? thanks ..read more

John Lewis washing machine not turning - time for new brushes?

Our John Lewis washing machine (model JLWM1202, PNC 91451711200, purchase date ~2006) has always given us good service and only required a couple of replacement inlet valves in its 18 year life. However, today it seemed to stop mid-cycle and experimentation suggests that the motor is failing to turn and this is corroborated in the service mode which reveals an E52 'No signal from motor techimetric generator' error. Wrestling the machine out of its cupboard appears to have got things going again, and the short video below shows the motor spinning along with the sparking whose sound is somethin ..read more

Sudden onset failure of machine to show programme data as dial is turned, save for two wash settings. Machine does not start to run on any of the selections. Main Module pcb looked sooty, especially around one particular microchip; but when soot removed, no distortion or damage is visible. Rest of machine looks fine. Is it worth investing in a new module? Bought second hand, but trying to be green, so don't want to give up too easily and the machine was running perfectly until it wasn't ..read more

I put the clothes in the washing machine as usual and pressed START. Then I noticed the drum clean light had come on. This is a fairly new machine, so I hadn't experienced this before. I referred to the manual and it says "Don't put laundry in the washing machine during the drum cleaning". My laundry is already IN the washing machine".... What do I do ..read more

Hello, My Ariston Hotpoint AQGF 149 has been displaying a f-02 error code for the past few days. What happens is the following : The program starts, and water fills up. The motor tries to make the tub turn, but only rotates by a few degrees, producing a clunk noise. This goes on for a few minutes, at which point : * Either the machine displays an f-02 error, empties itself, and releases the door lock. If I want to run the machine again, I need to unplug it for a minute or so and back again. * Or the machine goes on to the next cycle (probably the wash cycle compared to the previous "soak ..read more

Hi I recently replaced the heater element on my washing machine. Went without a hitch once I managed to get the original one out. While I was at it I replaced the temperature sensor and stripped and cleaned all the drain pipes from the drum to the hole on the back where it attaches to the external hose. was slow to drain before. Put it all back together after checking for leaks around various bits. Ran a boil wash (Cottons 95c) to flush everything through. Ran perfectly. Ive since noticed that the water only appears to be getting hot on the hottest washes (95c as above). I remember the door ..read more

Hello, last night the old Bosch exxcel 1200 tripped the rcd and stopped with a full load and full of water, I have no idea where in the cycle it was other than when I drained the water it was soapy. The machine is now dead, nothing on the small screen and just all the lights flashing, it doesn’t trip the power when turned on. I’m thinking this is a failure of the circuit board? thanks, Tom ..read more
